Chicago police at the scene where two men were shot and critically wounded in the 400 block of West Blackhawk Street the evening of Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2018.

At the scene, Chicago police cars swarmed the intersection of Blackhawk and Sedgwick streets.

The boy was in the 2100 block of South Oakley Avenue about 2:30 p.m. when he was shot in the right thigh, police said in a media notification. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where his condition was stabilized.

    3 wounded in shootings on North, West sides
    Two men were critically wounded in a Near North Side shooting attack Tuesday evening, about six hours after a 17-year-old boy was shot on the West Side, according to police. Two men were shot and critically wounded in the 400 block of West Blackhawk Street in the Old Town neighborhood about 8:20 p.m.
  • Marshall Field Garden homes need to go. The police are unable to control the gang activity there. I also believe the police know the offenders well. To bad they are unable to put them in jail. Where are our politicians?

    But not a fan of the new restrictions the ACLU has put on our policemen or the new policies of preckwinkle to “empty the jails”
    Recidivism is rampant Home monitoring program is overwhelmed
    No pension reform means no money for anything else. Just high taxes and high crime rate
    In my opinion these new ideas are not good for anyone
    Time for real reforms!

    Commander Bauer was right. Too many especially juvenile criminals are back on the street . No consequences for kids. It is time for reform!

    I agree with the last statement. Often times kids are released back to the custody of their parents.
