No luck - just planned and well executed delivery of a service

  • Rob

The service was decent, the atmosphere was indeed conducive to being social, and the cocktails were well done. However, the few times I tried the place the food itself was underwhelming. It'll be interesting to see what comes next.

Andrew, who ever said that vermin are expected and tolerated? I see too many posts that focus on the business owner and not the landlord. When I ran a restaurant in the square, we would contact the landlord whenever we saw bugs or vermin. Together, we dealt with the problems so that we were up to code. City ordinances apply to the property owner who must assume responsibility for the safety of their tenants. Why is everyone here assuming that the new owner is going to allow her business to fall victim to bad press like this? Give her a chance to make a fresh start!

I've worked in restaurants for 15 years and they do NOT all have issues with cockroaches, but in my experience, the older the building, the more likely it is that they are there and the harder it is to get rid of them, and that's if you DO care. I worked at one place that was professionally sprayed regularly and put out sticky traps, etc. but we'd still see them because they were living in the walls so you could never get them all.

I'm definitely on team "I'd only eat there after a total gut rehab." She didn't care for 20+ years, why would she care now? Even if she did it would likely be too little too late.
