    In its sixth year, Tuesdays at the Triangle is going beyond delivering two hours of free entertainment in the Polish Triangle each Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. through August 28. At the inaugural evening Tuesday, June 5, two new food vendors will offer tamales and pizza and more vendors will be coming on board in following weeks.

This weekend: Getting around the area will present some challenges

Bus #70 will use Western Ave., Augusta and Damen to get around the Do-Division Fest that occupies Division between Damen and Leavitt. The re-route uses Damen between Division and Augusta; Augusta between Damen and Western; and Western between Augusta and Division.

    Bus and Blue Line passengers may experience travel time delays, while bicyclists, walkers and auto drivers may experience their own delays. As festival season returns, bus travel around West Town is being impacted and the Blue Line has ongoing repairs.

    Targeting 24 blocks around Norwegian American Hospital (NAH) in Humboldt Park, a new vision for a development and wellness project will be presented to the community at two different presentations next week. The May 15 event will be in English and the May 21 one will be in Spanish.

    Yes, I attended. There were no plans or projects that were presented. It was an information gathering exercise. They asked the community what their number one concerns for the community were, what were the top three issues or concerns and what three solutions would the community like to see for the concerns. Some ideas put forth were to expand the community garden, a fitness center for the community with wellness classes like yoga, Zumba, etc, dog park, farmer's market. While maintaining the strong culture and charm of the neighborhood. Concerns about the Veterans housing that went up without community support was brought up, they said there were no plans to do anything like that.

    Did you attend the meeting @humboldtwriter? If so, I would appreciate your take.

A Game for Everyone: Humboldt Park Chess Program seeks to draw women, men, boys and girls of all ages

    This past fall, Humboldt Park Branch of the Chicago Public Library launched a weekend chess program intended to draw players at all levels. Inspired by the success of the Lozano branch program run by Héctor Hernández since 1989, the new Humboldt Park program was started by library staffer Jesus Cabrera and so far has drawn a seven year-old child who "played phenomenally well," a 76-year old man, and two high school girls, amongst others.
