Wile E!

Cemeteries are pretty much heaven for urban coyotes. No predators, many acres to roam, very little human contact, plenty of water, and lots of small rodents and vegetation to snack on. Both of Uptown's big cemeteries have coyote families who are rarely seen by visitors (see the exceptions at  St. Boniface and Graceland here). Reader MDS was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of this guy last week.

I'm sure it's good information, link just not working for me, error code thing?

Thank you for caring about out local coyotes.

  • You’re more than welcome. Glad you learned you learned something today. Your comments were inaccurate and could be considered unneighborly. When you post false information about wildlife that could possibly present danger to a dog or any pet, that could be seen as irresponsible. Please don’t just regurgitate something you read one day or heard someone tell you. Have good night. For your knowledge about coyotes.

  • I think it is funny that gentrification is good when Pawar and Ostermen do it, but not when Capplemen does it in Uptown.

  • It's called hypocrisy but the activists have never had a problem with that.

Signs Of Spring

Boats are returning to Montrose Harbor, with the new 811 Uptown building in the background. Work is coming to a close on the exterior of the 27-story building on the former Maryville site, with just a few more floors needing outside windows. According to the contractor, work on the Agatite townhomes portion of the project will begin very soon.

Free Shredding Event This Friday

If you missed the 46th Ward shredding event last Friday, or if you've got more paper, you're in luck. The 47th Ward will be sponsoring another shredding event this Friday across the street from the aldermanic office. UU Note: Midway Movers will not accept glossy paper (ie, magazines) or card stock (ie, campaign flyers) in its shredding baskets. You'll have to find another shredding provider for those materials.

5025 N. Clark (at Winnemac) and future home of "Meeting House Tavern" (Google)

"Meeting House Tavern" Coming Soon To Clark & Winnemac
We've heard rumors for some time now about the former owners of Crew and their plans to open up a new neighborhood watering hole in the area. According to liquor license applications with the city, we now know that Mark Robertson and Michael Sullivan intend to open "Meeting House Tavern" at 5025 N.

  • From Jeffrey: "It doesn't say anything about the second floor"

From the brief article: "Meeting House Tavern would occupy the front two floors of the building along Clark."

From Jeffrey: "not really an "article" as much as a comment a liquor license was applied for."

From the brief article: "Not much else to go on besides the liquor application. But once we hear more of what to expect, we will pass it along."

The very brief article addressed both of the things Jeffrey was complaining about, so why is he complaining? Obviously more info will be coming out in the future.
