Chicago cops investigating how suspect got loaded handgun into police lockup

The .22-caliber handgun was discovered by a cleaner while tidying the holding cell at the Town Hall police station in the 800 block of West Addison Street, according to police and Cook County prosecutors.

On Sunday, a judge denied bail for Acevedo during a hearing at the Leighton Criminal Court Building. Acevedo, of the 1200 block of North California Avenue, was charged with being an armed habitual criminal, a Class X felony punishable with up to 30 years in prison.

    Yep they built the new station in my old playground at LeMoyne Elementary, now Inter-American School. Back then it was an over-crowded school we needed that space, these days there are few kids in the neighborhood between pre-school age and post-college.
