The revised plan calls for the intersection at Wilson and Lamon to remain open to traffic in both directions -- with a stop sign directing traffic around the billboard.

    City officials have resurrected a plan to build a massive electronic billboard in the middle of the street in a Jefferson Park neighborhood, nearly 2½ years after officials first began working to build one of the last of the massive signs approved by the City Council in 2013.

    The city should be paying us for all of the aggravation we have to endure. The traffic pattern will only create more gridlock. The revenue from the billboard will just be squandered on ghost payrolls and other non-essentials. Who are they fooling?

Cops warn of man wanted for public indecency on Northwest Side

A passer-by saw the man stepping in and out of a gangway in the 4600 block of North Austin Avenue about 8:40 a.m. Tuesday, according to a police community alert. The witness saw the man “was inappropriately touching himself” as the two girls walked past, according to the alert.

    Thieves have stolen rims and tires from at least 10 vehicles in the past week on the Northwest Side, leaving the cars perched on cinder or paver blocks, Chicago police said. The thefts happened between Monday and Friday to vehicles that were parked on residential street overnight in the Jefferson Park and Portage Park neighborhoods, police said in a community alert.

You may recall that in 2015, the city attempted to permanently close the intersection of Lamon and Wilson to all vehicle traffic without having any conversation with my office or the community. After I halted construction with my vehicle, they agreed to work through this issue with us.

The meeting will be 6:30 pm Wednesday, May 2, at the Copernicus Center Annex, 5214 W. Lawrence.
