Plan resurrected for electronic billboard in Jefferson Park street

The revised plan calls for the intersection at Wilson and Lamon to remain open to traffic in both directions -- with a stop sign directing traffic around the billboard.

Plan resurrected for electronic billboard in Jefferson Park street
City officials have resurrected a plan to build a massive electronic billboard in the middle of the street in a Jefferson Park neighborhood, nearly 2½ years after officials first began working to build one of the last of the massive signs approved by the City Council in 2013.

Who are the planners of these projects

  • The city should be paying us for all of the aggravation we have to endure. The traffic pattern will only create more gridlock. The revenue from the billboard will just be squandered on ghost payrolls and other non-essentials. Who are they fooling?

Russ Gremel spent his life giving back to his community. He spent more than 60 years serving as a Boy Scout leader to a Jefferson Park troop, and last year he donated more than $2 million in Walgreens stocks to create a bird sanctuary. His legacy serves as an inspiration to be generous with our time, compassion, and - when we have the privilege to do so - our money. Visitation is scheduled for May 3 and 4 at Malec & Sons Funeral Home, 6000 N. Milwaukee Ave., with funeral services on May 5 at the Congregational Church of Jefferson Park, 5320 W. Giddings St. http://www.chicagotribune.com/business/ct-biz-scout-leader-donated-walgreens-stock-20180423-story.html
