Illegal guns are killing innocent people

Cynthia Trevillion, 64, a teacher at Waldorf School in Chicago, was shot in the head and fatally wounded in the 6900 block of North Glenwood Avenue near the Morse Red Line station on Oct. 13, 2017, in the Rogers Park neighborhood.

Illegal guns are killing innocent people
This is a tale of two teachers, one who taught in a high-achieving public school on Chicago's South Side and the other in a private school on the North Side. Both were unintended victims of Chicago's escalating gun violence, in neighborhoods some 20 miles apart.

According to the Associated Press report, pharmacies dispensed 69 tons of oxycodone and 42 tons of hydrocodone in 2010. That gives each person in the United States 40 tablets of 5 mg Percocet and 25 5 mg Vicodin.

  • Why is the public being charged $30 a head to attend an event to heal the experiences of those who have been affected by violence when none of the money is going to victims of violence? Is this a scam event that is emotionally exploiting the victims? How is any of this money going to help real victims?
