The shooting was reported on the 500 block of Fessler Avenue just south of 75th Street near Modaff Road, police said in a Naper Notify community alert. Officers did not immediately say what time the shooting occurred.

A 911 call reporting smoke and fire at the house on the 200 block of West Bailey Road was received at 7:57 p.m., and the first firefighter unit arrived at 8 p.m. Ultimately, 10 pieces of fire apparatus and 24 fire personnel were at the scene.
