  • Gun laws are part of the problem. It is easier for people in Chicago to just go over to Indiana or gun shows to buy guns or buying devices to make rifles fully automatic. Gun laws need to be more universal. If you are a law abiding citizen, you should not have problems buying and owning a gun.

Transfers at Indiana Gun Shows to out of state residents need to be done by a person with a Federal Firearms License. That transfer requires a background check. FFL's are regularly checked by ATF to ensure they are following the laws and punishment is swift and severe for those who fail to follow the ATF rules for firearms transfers. You really should do your own research before spouting off the anti-gun narrative. Learn actual facts instead of listening to the anti-gunners fake news. Read the actual laws. Go to a gun show and try to buy a firearm and see the actual process.

That is not to say that people don't use straw purchasers to buy their firearms for them, both in Illinois and Indiana. Sadly, several people have been caught buying firearms for convicted felons, sadly Cook County plea deals those cases down to misdemeanors far to often. Again, do your own research to find out how many straw purchasers in Illinois, Indiana or Wisconsin have been prosecuted in Federal Court where they could be punished by 10 years in prison. Why did the state chose to prosecute these cases instead of having the Federal government where the punishment is more severe, to do it? Why is that?

The laws are there at the state and federal levels but are not being used. Ask Kimisha why she is giving plea bargin's for any firearms related crimes which makes the felony a misdemeanor. Why does she have no objection to the gun offenders being released with little to no bail but judges?

The laws are already there but they are not being utilized.

    Helen no H,

Toni Preckwinkle has spoken many times about her reforming the criminal justice system so those under 18 are not held responsible for their criminal acts.

Toni Preckwinkle has been quoted that she lobbied Judge Timothy Evans to reform the bail system so criminals could await trial at home.

Toni Preckwinkle demanded that Sheriff Dart release more violent criminals on home monitoring so they can await trial at home.

Toni Preckwinkle personally picked Kim Foxx to be State's Attorney.

When one reads the newspapers and learns that someone accused of a new and violent felony is out on bond on a previous charge for a violent crime I believe one can thank Toni Preckwinkle and her acolytes.
