I’m pleased to announce that the first phase of construction of a new annex space at Prussing Elementary, 4650 N. Menard, began this Thursday.The new annex is expected to be completed by November this year.

In fall 2017, a new turf field was installed at Hitch Elementary, 5625 N. McVicker. The new fields at Schurz High School and Farnsworth Elementary are well underway, with draft designs presented to the Farnsworth community just this week.

The 5500-block of North Parkside at 4:00 pm on January 25;

The 5500-block of North Mango between 6:00 pm January 29 and 5:00 am January 30;

The 5700-block of West Ainslie between 7:00 pm January 30 and 9:00 am January 31; and

Parents/guardians, teachers, or clinicians can speak to the IT in person on Wednesday, February 21, between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm at the Center for Conflict Resolution, 11 E. Adams.

Ignoring the emotional aspects and just the law; if they are under 18 it is child pornography and they can be charged even if pictures of themselves. They can be charged while still a minor! Furthermore it can be considered a federal crime because digitally the pictures cross state boundaries with how the phone lines, internet, and cloud backups work.

    You need to discuss these issues with your child as even if at that age group most would consider it normal and not child pornography that is not how the law views it. As you can see from this police report this does happen and is not far fetched.
