Thank you to all who came out helped, and participated in the #21stWardCleanAndGreen on yesterday! It was defiantly a group effort from the 21st Ward team, the AKA’s, the Businesses who donated and participated(United Fidelity Bank and Hollywood Beauty Supply for jumping in and helping us clean). Commissioner Stanley Moore and team for your help, State Representative Justin Slaughter for joining us. Club 21, The 21st ward Churches, the Neighborhood high school students. The many blocks and block clubs who came out and participated by cleaning their blocks and area. Especially the 9600 Block of Morgan. You all rock for coming together as a community and helping your neighbor clean out their backyard. #TeamWork True definition of #UnityInTheCommunity. (See pics below). No bail for two accused in fatal shooting near West Chatham strip mall

Shortly after 7:10 p.m., the victims were on a lunch break from their jobs and were walking thru a parking lot in the 200 block of West 87th Street, prosecutors said at a bail hearing Thursday.

Men injured after exchanging gunfire during robbery among 7 shot in Chicago

Around 8:10 p.m., a 27-year-old man tried to rob a 57-year-old man in the 4400 block of West Maypole Avenue in the West Garfield Park neighborhood, according to police.

In the city’s most recent attack, a 21-year-old man was shot in the head and upper back around 8:30 p.m. in the 4300 block of West 63rd Street in the Southwest Side’s West Lawn neighborhood, police said.

Earlier, a 31-year-old man was shot in the 1300 block of North Massasoit Avenue in the North Austin neighborhood on the West Side about 12:20 p.m., police said in a media notification. The man went in his own car to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where he was in good condition.

Police said, around 8:45 p.m., the man was sitting in a parked car in the 500 block of West Division Street, when a group of five men approached, and fired several shots, striking the victim in the back. The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Around 6:45 p.m. Sunday, a 49-year-old man was shot in the chest in the 300 block of North Central Avenue in the South Austin neighborhood. Police said he was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he later was pronounced dead.

Around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, two men were driving in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, when two gunmen got out of a dark-colored SUV and opened fire near 49th and Ashland, police said.

The victims kept driving to the Englewood District police station, in the 1400 block of West 63rd Street, according to police. From there, paramedics took both victims to Stroger Hospital.

Around 9:30 p.m. Friday, police responded to a call of shots fired near 55th and Cornell in the East Hyde Park neighborhood, and found a 39-year-old man lying on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds to the head, chest, and leg.

Around 4:30 p.m. Friday, a 21-year-old man was sitting in a parked car near 124th and Lowe, when another man walked up and shot him in the chest. Police said the victim drove away, and hit several parked cars.

Man gets life in prison for murders of two nephews of Chicago state senator

The shootings happened about 6:15 a.m. July 5 in the 8800 block of South Bishop Street in the Gresham neighborhood, according to prosecutors and police. The crime was caught on surveillance video, according to prosecutors.

John Hunter drove to the 1600 block of West 89th Street before crashing into a building. Willie Lee was pronounced dead on the scene with multiple gunshot wounds and his brother was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead.

The city’s first fatal shooting occurred just before 4 p.m. in the 9500 block of South Vincennes on Saturday afternoon. A man was driving northbound when an unknown vehicle pulled up alongside him, and one of the occupants fired shots into the car, striking him in the chest.

On Saturday evening, two men were shot and killed in the 3300 block of South Lawndale Avenue. The incident occurred at an auto body repair shop, according to police, and officers responding to a call of shots fired found both men dead at the scene.

The city’s most recent shooting occurred in the 2200 block of South Trumbull, when a 27-year-old man was shot during a robbery attempt. After the man was shot, he was robbed by the suspects, who fled the scene.

A 15-year-old boy was shot in the left leg on the 5200 block of North Winthrop at approximately 6:10 p.m. The boy was standing on a sidewalk when he was approached by three men, and was shot. He was taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital in stable condition.

In the 3000 block of South St. Louis at approximately 6:30 p.m., a 30-year-old man was shot in the chest by a person in a red colored SUV. The victim was taken to Mount Sinai in critical condition, according to police.

In the 7300 block of South Winchester at approximately 7:15 p.m., a 24-year-old man was shot in the left elbow while standing on a gangway. He was taken to Christ Hospital in stable condition.

A 33-year-old man was shot after a verbal altercation in the 10700 block of South Perry, police said. He was taken to Christ Hospital in stable condition.

A 32-year-old man was shot in the chest while he was walking in the 6600 block of South Evans at approximately 4:14 a.m., police said. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in serious condition.

A 9-year-old girl was accidentally shot by her 3-year-old cousin, police said. The incident occurred at 11:20 a.m. in the 3200 block of West Fulton. The victim is in good condition at Stroger Hospital, and police are still investigating.

Just before 4 p.m. in the 600 block of North Leamington, a 35-year-old man was approached by another man, who fired shots at him and fled the scene. The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital in good condition with a gunshot wound to his leg, police said.
