Gale academy landscapers

Why have the youth landscapers been replaced by professionals?
I thought the Hockwater kids did a fine job.
And the price was right.

  • Who are the Hockwater kids?

Just the sheer number of vicious attacks that are associated with Morse and Jarvis stops. Especially the ones that attracted national attention.

Wow. Sheer number of vicious attacks. Two. What national attention are you referring to, BTW?

65 was made the ‘official’ age for retirement at a time when the average life expectancy was 68 - 70. I’m not sure what the current life expectancy is, but it seems to me that I recall it being much closer to 80. In some ways, it is unfortunate that the ‘official’ age is so low (said as I near 60😕). Social Security was never intended to fund the last 20+ years of active healthy lives.

Have you switched from Comcast to RCN?

I am thinking of switching from Comcast to RCN in order to save money. Has anyone switched from one company to the other? Have you seen good savings over comparable packages? I went to RCN's website like I was going to purchase new service and put everything in my cart. I tried to make it really close to what I have now as far as Premier Digital, Phone, Internet, Tivo, extra digital box, router, modem, unpublished number, etc. Have I been paying too much this long? The monthly estimated bill (which includes estimated fees and taxes) was 30% lower than Comcast!! Trying to decide if it would really be worth it. Thanks for the feedback!!!

  • I had RCN for years and I recently switched when our internet only bill went up to $90 a month. In combination with a few reactivation fees of $40 the bill was up $130 a month. It was too much. We are taking our chances with a slower speed with Comcast. $24.99 a month.

Full irony of bringing up such an old post....i too lowered my bill about a year and a half ago by switching from rcn to Comcast. Rcn refused to match any of the promos they were mailing me or Comcast promos. They would only lower my bill by reducing services. I told them I was cancelling on x date. Called multiple times. Canceled on x date, after Comcast was activated. They didn't even try to stop me from cancelling that day. Then they call and email me begging to come back. Sorry rcn I have a three year contract with Comcast and couldn't be happier at the moment...

  • What good police work! Vicious criminal at work in Rogers Park and alert Shakespeare Police Officers recognize and arrest him in Logan Square!

  • Sounds like the victim will lose an eye due to the savagery of the attack.

So sad and senseless. If only our justice system would stop blindly fast-tracking catch & release, minimizing sentencing or offering early parole.

Energy Scam Folks Making Their Rounds

I just had a man knock HARD on my front window while ringing the doorbell, and THEN jiggling the door handle excessively hard. I came from a back room and saw him walking down the front steps and I thought it may have been a delivery driver, so I opened the door (oops) and he came flying back up the steps with the whole spiel of "Just need to see your energy bill, etc." I politely told him no thanks,...

I came from a back room and saw him walking down the front steps and I thought it may have been a delivery driver, so I opened the door (oops) and he came flying back up the steps with the whole spiel of "Just need to see your energy bill, etc." I politely told him no thanks, and he just kept talking over me. Told him "no thank you, I'm not interested", and closed the door. He then went huffing across my lawn hollering about how black men in Chicago don't get any respect...
So, that was pleasant.
He was wearing a blue polo, tan pants, lanyard around his neck and had dreads.

Just an FYI to the people in the Pratt/Wayne area.

I laughed and said do you really think I'm letting you one step anywhere here?

I also pointed out she had nothing to "write down information on".
I swear it's a training exercise for future scamming.
