Ahead of this week's public meeting on The Po...

Ahead of this week's public meeting on The Point, I wanted to answer some frequently asked questions my office has received about the proposal. Below is a bullet-pointed list of what the developers will present. - 50,000 square feet of ground-floor retail along Milwaukee Ave. and Irving Park Rd. - Aldi is committed as the anchor to the retail space - 265 residential, senior living units: 86 independent, 141 assisted, and 38 memory care - 237 parking spaces: 165 covered and 72 open air - Two public plazas along Milwaukee Ave. - A pedestrian connection between Milwaukee and Irving Park The plan adheres to the Six Corners Master Plan by activating underutilized land for private and public use. Retail and residential mixed-use development is a cornerstone of the redevelopment goals within the plan. I hope you will join me on Thursday, June 21, at 6:30 pm at Filament Theatre, 4041 N. Milwaukee, to learn more.

Obama-Land Fiasco Worsens - Chicago Taxpayers Now Face $224 Million Bill

Obama-Land Fiasco Worsens - Chicago Taxpayers Now Face $224 Million Bill
Authored by Mark Glennon via Wirepoints.com, The taxpayer bill for the Obama Center to be built on Chicago's Southside now appears to be $224 million, not $172 million as initially reported, and it's certainly not privately funded as initially promised.
https://www.zerohedge.com

  • Knew it would happen. Do we really need it? I don't think so.

  • Nessuno Marginalized and Cast Aside Tax Source!

    Here's the latest:
Illinois’ state budget might not be the only source of taxpayer money for the center. Chicago residents may face a property tax add-on, as the General Assembly amended the state’s Museum Act in 2016 to permit such a tax to help finance the center. Alterations to the Museum Act also allowed lawmakers to grant the parkland transfer to the Obama Foundation. That transfer is the subject of a federal lawsuit filed by the nonprofit Protect Our Parks.

Roof repair

I know there was a recent post about roofers but I can't seem to find it. Is a permit needed for this and does anybody have recommendations of people that they have used who are reputable. Thanks in advance.

  • Tan's roofing on Elston I used them for 30 years good company stand behind their work.

I second BelaMia! STUART NYBERG is really dependable and does a great job. We found him through EveryBlock. We were in a time crunch. They're fast, stick to their estimates, and clean everything up. We recently (after that huge series of rainstorms last week) called about a leak in a different place and they found it quickly (around the stone over a window, not the roof!). They'll be back within the week. 17737258973

I know about the project. I was just wondering if anyone attended the meeting the other night and could give me feedback of how the majority of the community felt about the proposal. Thank you -

They're fortunate that they got shot so close to a hospital. Dumb luck.

Man shot while riding bike on Irving Park and Mango

Anyone knows more details about this incident?

  • My fellow Chicagoans, we are under siege by the progressive ideology. Please see it for what it is. Bad people/thugs crime minded people will never change nor do they want to change. We must once again become tough on crime all the way through to the court system. Impeach the judges who are not keeping the criminals locked up or giving them light sentences.

Mental Health is an other problem as well, the State has cut so much $ and closed so many facilities that it's everyman for themselves out there!!!
