Weekly Update from the Alderman - May 25, 2018
The Chicago Police Department this week successfully led a narcotics mission that arrested 10 individuals for selling narcotics in the Uptown area of the 48th Ward. This joint operation with the 19th and 20th District was focused on gang and drug activity in the area south of Foster.

  • Rob

"In an effort to maintain the unique characteristics of the EARC neighborhood, a request was made from the EARC Block Club to look into the possibility of rezoning the area bounded by Foster, Bryn Mawr, Glenwood to Clark St., from the current RT-4 zoning to the RS-3 zoning district.."

    Good ol' NIMBYs!

  • If it is an area of single family homes they have a right to ask for the down zoning to keep the character of the area. Not everyone wants to live in a densely populated area.

Sears and Forensics

Does anyone know what happened behind the Sears today? At about 11am there were forensics cops and my wife was told the store would not be open today.

  • I think they were investigating the slow and painful death of Sears Holdings Corporation.

  • We recently purchased a police scanner. Things are very busy for our police. Recently I read about long wait times due to the lack of beat police. Its absolutely awful knowing you can wait ,20 + minutes for a squad to arrive.
There are incidents that never make it posted anywhere because of the amount of crime daily. As a person who is now privy to the calls, and the hold times of responses due to lack of sufficient police, you should call the alderman and mayor!
