Bleeding and crying in pain, 14-year-old boy is carried to safety in neighbor's home

A 28-year-old man was grazed in the hip around 12:05 a.m. Wednesday in the 2600 block of West 15th Street in the Douglas Park neighborhood on the West Side, police said. He went to Mount Sinai Hospital where he was in good condition.

In another West Side shooting, a 17-year-old boy was in the 2400 block of West Madison Street in the Near West Side neighborhood around 5 p.m. when someone began chasing him and fired shots, he told officers. The boy was taken to Stroger Hospital where he was stabilized.

    So I stay on topic relative to this thread, someone was shot in the 6100 block of Grace over the Memorial Day weekend, the drive-shooting May 16th in the Jefferson Park CTA terminal at 2:45 pm, and also on May 16th the shots fired at Dickinson Playlot Park at 8:15 pm. The later end ended with a car in the 5000 block of Irving Park being struck by a bullet.

    On March 21st, CPD arrested a man who fired several shots in the 4000 block of La Porte, after a brief foot chase.

    Sounds like the Quakers in our midst are feuding, huh?

The 24-year-old man was walking in the 5000 block of South Wood Street in the South Side neighborhood when he was shot around 9:40 p.m. Tuesday by someone who came from behind with his face covered, police said.

Earlier, a 33-year-old man was shot in the arm by someone on foot while he was riding a bicycle around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday in the 4000 block of North Mango Avenue in the Portage Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side, police said.

Driver Fatally Struck Cyclist Raul Ortiz-Gomez, 41, in West Town

Ogden is a direct diagonal route from the North Side to the Southwest Sides. In December 2013, a drunk driver fatally struck Hector Avalos, 28, on the 2500 block of West Ogden, 2.5 miles southwest of yesterday’s crash site, as Avalos was biking from his job as a cook at a River North restaurant.

Ortiz-Gomez, who lived on the 2600 block of South Harding in Little Village, was transported to Northwestern Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.
