Thanks for the clarification as to the B'way address, Larry. And as far as Thorndale Beach goes, no, there won't be fireworks (lawful or not) there. But in the past I've been able to see the Monroe Harbor fireworks from the Emanuel parking lot, which is really for members and temple congregants only. However, the adjacent Thorndale Beach Park (renamed Schaalman Park in honor of the rabbi Emeritus) just south is open to the public, and affords a much wider view of the lake all the way to downtown (not to mention more room to stand).

  • Sandy - the park that some people call Schaalman Park (really Park #517) is on the west side of Sheridan and has no useful view of the lake. There is a pretty good view toward downtown from the rocks at Berger Park and a much better view from the rocks southwest of Osterman Beach.

A few years ago there were fireworks at Thorndale Beach and it scared my dog so badly he won't walk that way after dark this time of year.
