Looking for Construction Advice re Deck Repair or Replace

Can anyone recommend contractors for us to get a few opinions on whether our condo assn needs to repair or replace our wooden decks? We have an architect's report detailing repairs he believes are sufficient to meet code, but a contractor who has worked in the area says we won't pass an inspection with those repairs and wants us to completely replace. [This would cost twice as much.]
Has anyone here gone through this? And passed inspection after repairs, not replacement?
Thanks to you all for your help.

Lucky Tavern Owner Predicts Andersonville-Like Transformation on Clark

Khamis said he expects his "sports bar" at 6651 N. Clark St. to open this summer if he's granted a liquor license. He would not need a zoning change nor need a liquor moratorium to be lifted on the block.

Khamis has operated several other restaurants and bars in Rogers Park, including Big Buns and Pita, later known as Sahara Kabob, which was located next door to the proposed tavern until 2012. He also owned MK Lounge from 1986 to 1990 at the northwest corner of Clark and Devon Avenue.
