***FOUND*** Small tan male dog- possibly a chihuahua mix- found 1/15 early morning around 12am in Lincoln Square on the corner of Lincoln and Montrose in Chicago. Was wandering and looked cold with no owner in sight. Such a sweet boy- ran straight to me when approached. Was shaking and cold, so my husband and I warmed him up and took him to Medvet on Belmont/Clybourn. We live in Aurora so did not want to take him too far away from where we found him. No collar or microchip. He looks well fed and is so friendly, obedient, and sweet- he must have an owner/family out there who is missing him! Medvet will keep him 2-3 days and then he could be sent to Chicago Animal Control. Please contact Medvet @ 3123 N Clybourn (the emergency vet- not the cancer center) 773-281-7110 or reply to this post.

Two improvised saxophone-drum duos show that age is nothing but a number on the Chicago jazz scene
These two sax-percussion duos represent several generations in Chicago improvised music-saxophonist Gerrit Hatcher is 26, while drummer Steve Hunt is 63-but all the musicians share an exploratory curiosity, and both pairs engage in fascinating modes of communication.

Two suspicious men stealing packages on 2900 block of Damen.

I noticed two very suspicious men walking up and down Damen, carrying empty brown paper bags from Mariano's.

They were scoping out everyone's porches for what I believe to be packages to steal.

One was Caucasian. About 5' 9" -5" 11". Wearing all black with bright blue Nike shoes.

The other guy has either Hispanic or Caucasion. About 5' 7" - 5' 9". Wearing a brown jacket, blue jeans, and a hood.

I called the cops but I have a feeling they got away cause they disappeared shortly after I called and I could not find them again when I went around the block to take a picture.

Just wanted to give you all a heads up.

Sound artist and composer Olivia Block turns to the piano

Thu 12/14, 8:30 PM, Constellation, 3111 N. Western, $10, 18+

Sound artist and composer Olivia Block turns to the piano
On most of Olivia Block's records, what she does to sounds matters much more than how they were originally made; using field recordings, instrumental passages, or electronics, she cuts, distorts, and layers the material until even the quietest passages feel packed with multiple meanings.
