New farmer's market in Naperville to cater to city's south side

The 95th Street Farmers Market, 3015 Cedar Glade Drive, will be open from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursdays from June 7 to Sept. 27.

The Farmers Market at St. John’s, 750 Aurora Ave., will be open from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays from May 30 to Sept. 19.

The Naperville Farmers Market, 200 E. Fifth Ave., will be open from 7 a.m. to noon Saturdays from June 2 to Oct. 27.

Since 1937, the family-owned business has been preparing bodies for visitation, conducting wakes, writing obituaries and planning funerals from a house at 44 S. Mill St. that was built in 1856. Before then, its hub was on Jefferson Avenue.

The Woesthoffs sold the farm after Malinda’s brother, Carl, died in a farm accident in 1941, and they family moved to 516 N. Washington St.

Sable said her mom met her father at a dance. He owned a tool and die shop that he sold after World War II, and the couple moved to 524 N. Webster St., where they raised their family.
