2.4 hours would be installing a can light where it is a new installation with no existing fixture or wiring and wires have to be pulled or added. this would include cutting a hole for the fixture. union rates may vary.

stevio - as I mentioned above, you can help with the installation to save money on your project. Or you can hire someone without insurance who will do it for $30 an hour, and won't be concerned with having the work at code.
Thanks for the offer but at the aforementioned prices/time frames I'll pass since I don't live at WaterTower place on Michigan Ave where those higher prices would better suit the address and slow install times.
