Anyone know what is going in here? Some construction going on in there. Miss that place. Just curious....

  • I can't think of the name..sorry...chain that sells flooring, etc...(Disappointing...)

  • Local Yocal Logan Square resident since 2000

    Floor and Decor?

  • steven 60706 resident

Was told it’s Floor and Decor. They have a few stores in the area includIng one in Arlington Heights that is in a former Cub foods location. Cub stores were huge and the store on Elston was also Cub Foods in a past life.

  • I initially heard Floor & Decor too but the guys right there in the Subway recently told me it was going to be a Ross Dress for Less. I guess time will tell.

  • House-Frau Homemaker, mom, animal lover

Dang it! We need a GROCERY store!

  • The US Bank knows...they lend $ you know...Floor and Decor. I think US Bank mentioned they are taking over add'l space as well. (She was bummed, too, no grocery store.) I cannot buy at Target; when they first got in food items, I picked up a donut box and it was filled with fruit flies..

  • A Trader Joe's would be perfect in that location!

  • I too was wondering. Hoped it was a grocery store. Wouldn’t be happy about Floor and Decor and especially wouldn’t be happy with a Ross store.

  • Trader Joe is too pricey

  • What was the footprint of Strack n Van Til was subdivided into 3 or 4 retail spaces at almost double the price per square foot.

Good luck to whoever is selling whatever to make that monthly rent payment.

  • We already got another grocery store, Fresh Thyme, right across the street. Target just recently doubled the size of thier grocery dept too. So I don't think there is room for another grocery store anymore.

  • Fresh Thyme isn’t bad but very small and limited offerings. Target isn’t bad either but very limited produce items. Maybe another crummy furniture store. 😂

  • I do most of my grocery shopping at Target, they have some pretty good house brand items. The organic milk in half gallon cartons is the best I've ever tasted. I really like the Archer Farms Thai lobster/shrimp salsd, as well as the chicken pasta with cherries, from the refrigerated section. Large selection of Amy's Organic, Lean Cuisine, etc. frozen meals. Everything else I buy at Costco.

I like the convenience of one stop shopping, plus they have electric carts, which is great for me, since I can't walk too far.

Cub Foods is still in business, but they only have one store, in Freeport, about 200 miles from here.

Never been to Cermak Produce on Belmont and Pulaski, but I hear they're good.

  • Good to know...I'll try the brands you mentioned..thanks!

  • They're in the middle of the first refrigerated standalone facing the door when you walk in

The Thai salad (like a creamy cole slaw, with baby shrimp) is medium spicy.

i guess you don't cook much techie! there is a cermak at 3800ish n. kedzie-very good for hispanic foods and cheap cheese! trader joe's will NEVER (i hope) put stakes in the middle of a shopping mall-against everything it stands for environment-wise. i don't what f&d is but makes sense next to menards. cub foods!-blastfromthepast!!!

pretty sure those were the way aldi segued in here

  • They do it in the suburbs, there's one in Glenview at Waukegan and Lake, along with a Jewel and a few other stores. More of a strip mall, not Woodfield.
