Hello. Did anyone witness a car crash at 3818 N. Kimball Avenue at 11:00am on 12/28/17? My car was parked there and there was a hit and run. I obtained the police report and that report states that a witness saw a black Mercedes driven by older man hit two cars (including mine) and drive off. Security footage would also be great, of course.

  • Sorry to hear about your hit and run. The sad part about this is that the driver most likely has full cover insurance, judging from the car he drives, but still chose to flee. Only 1% of minor hit and runs culprits are ever caught and step up to the plate and pay for damages.

    Hi Chris H,

I was driving approximately two cars behind the black vehicle that struck the two parked cars. If I recall correctly, there was enough distance between the alleged black vehicle to eliminate the possibility that he had suddenly pulled left to avoid crashing into a vehicle directly in front. In other words, he had no obvious reason to crash into the parked cars unless he had fallen asleep, had a sudden tie rod or axle issue, was drunk or stoned. Sadly, I don't recall the vehicle make and model. .. although, I believe it was a black SUV or van (not a Mercedes sedan, I think) being driven by an older Hispanic male, who had either very short mostly black hair and balding. He tried to pull away from the vehicle's for a bit, but it appeared the vehicle was not driveable. Check with the police for tow truck dispatching....or look around nearby for a damaged black vehicle. This is all I can recall. Hope you catch the guy!

Thank you very much for the response. I appreciate it. Does 11:00am sound right for the time of the crash?

Yes 11 am, that sounds about right.
