Halloween is just around the corner!

Where are the most popular blocks for trick-or-treating? Are any blocks doing something cool that neighbors would want to check out this coming weekend or on Monday evening?

Everyone goes to Harper street, 57th to 59th! Let's hear of some others!

RIGHT!!! I'm on the run now so can't write much. But Harper Ave is LEGENDARY around here. Folks decorate houses, do costumes, ect. Its awesome. If you have never been, definitely worth a visit. Caution, if you have really little ones or sensitive ones, you might want to wait till they are older. It can get hectic, crowded, and has a tad of the Mardi Gras atmosphere (not with skin or anything adult, just that wild party on the street vibe) and some folks may have scary bloody type decorations that adolescent boys would consider way cool but 5 or 6 year-olds might freak out at. Have fun, be safe!!

I had no idea that Harper Street was the place to be! Sounds great.

Yes. BIG TIME Only those 2 blocks though, between 57th and 59th....Kind of a Hyde Park insiders' secret, I guess...

  • zgwarnki Now, I can say Kenwood. Thanks, Obama!

Those blocks of Harper can get quite crowded especially later in the evening with (rowdy) older kids so, with little ones, get there early.

I've heard about 57th and Harper is great fun too from my pals with kids. I'm taking my nephew trick or treating this year; what are the normal times for trick or treating for the City of Chicago? And, since Halloween is Monday this year, will the kids be out both Sunday AND Monday?
