Does anyone know of a dog transportation/taxi service? I am without a car today and am hoping to bring my dog to the vet today.

  • I know that Lyft will take a let as long as it's in a carrier and you call the driver first.

  • Kelly B Beau & Milo's Mom

Side Car will too. Not sure if Uber will.

  • Last winter I had to use Uber a few times to take cat to the vet since my car was trapped in the snow. It was no problem since she was in a carrier. Don't know for sure about dogs.

  • Bex Runner, dog owner, food lover in the 60618

Flashcab will take dogs... but half the time they send me the same guy who says he "can't do the dog." He'll acquiesce when I whip out my phone to call another company, but it's still super annoying.

  • If you have dogs there is a dog cab service that charges $25. I have two dogs so I never really thought about using it. Luckily my dogs are good with my bike when I need to take them to the vet.
Don't know if this is worth checking out

And looks like our Rogers Park neighbors had the same convo.

and searching the internet found this site--- seems a bit expensive but depending on where you need to go.My vet is only a mile so I dont mind walking or biking, but good to know for an emergency.

  • Thank you for the ideas. I ended up using Pet in Transport and the service was excellent and I was happy to be able to get my sick dog to the vet so she can start feeling better! I failed to mention my dog is a carrier is never a possibility! Thanks again. I highly recommend Pet in Transport if ever in need.
