What are you thankful for today?

I am thankful for my family, my friends, my neighbors and the wonderful view from my apartment. Here's to many more years in Rogers Park!...

OK, I'll go first. The First Amendment, especially since DNAinfo and Gothamist are now defunct. An amendment to the United States Constitution guaranteeing the rights of free expression and action that are fundamental to democratic government. These rights include freedom of assembly, freedom of the press, freedom of religion, and freedom of speech.

  • Rob

Thankfully, you don't have first amendment rights in privately owned online forums (unlike what so many think.)

It's why the moderators of the REAL Rogers Park Neighborhood News kicked you out and you are now pathetically trying to get your own facebook group going (that you added people too without them asking)

(and since you are so fond of block quoting)-

"Friends, I just want to make you aware of something I find a bit underhanded and sneaky. I know Bill Morton is familiar to many of you (hmm, and now I see he is not a member of this group... did he manage to get himself kicked off? That explains a lot!). He created another group identically named to this one, and added me (and perhaps others of you) without my permission or knowledge. So... if you notice posts to a group with the cover photo below, and you are not interested in playing along with his games, you have been forewarned. I don't think Bill is necessarily a bad guy, but this isn't cool and he needs to knock it off."

Are you promoting censorship, Rob? This isn't cool and you should knock it off.

  • Rob

Where do you see censorship BIll?

Remember DNA went down because the investors said -no more subsidies-

owners are not required to contribute money to a failing business. The Union failed to review the books -like a good business person -and determine the business could not afford higher wages - so the union decided to push DNA into more debt making it a bigger losing business. The Union wasn't business savvy enough to understand the consequences of their horrible corrupt and inept action. As a result the Union put a lot of people out of work. Shame on them.

  • Rob

Wazzup - you really should learn about the situations you comment on. There was no Union action in this. There was a vote to Unionize, that was all.

I'm thankful for "chain links", the bike repair shop on the Loyola campus.Ill be dropping off my bike for a tuneup on this beautiful, sunny fall day...which I'm also grateful for.

  • I'm thankful for accelerating economic growth, unemployment at 4.5%, rising consumer confidence, and a bull market in equities that just keeps going and going.

Wazzup dnainfo was poorly ran though if they were actually trying to turn a profit.

  • Jeffrey Littleton If you can't be a poet, be the poem.

The Dnainfo reporters had to do way too many articles a week each to do a good job. It was bad management in that sense but the reporters deserve some credit for trying.

  • Phill Unfair suspension without reason. No rules broken

    Good morning!

    Buenas dias.
