Rob. Ignore a problem pretend it does not exist.

Somebody doesn't know what Trilogy is. While some of its clients are substance abusers, all of its clients are mentally ill. The care and treatment of the mentally ill is why Trilogy was established way back in 1971, decades before OxyContin. For those who cry about the mental health clinic on Howard having been shut down, do you contribute to this great organization working in our neighborhood. Here's its history:

For someone who does not understand that insanity and addiction are prescribed incarceration. Incarceration uses more tax money than treatment options like trilogy.
Thanks for helping everyone understand how the problem perpetuates itself here in RP.

  • Shore_Line

why dont you cite some sources then or is it all gibberish like christ witch's postings.

  • Bruce_ Comment by TBD, whom you've muted

Cite sources that prisons are used to house the insane and addicts?

  • Joe Willy Beautiful Loser, Brilliant Failure, Boolean Member

Thumbs up if you also read these many comments anti-chronologically! People argue about any/everything on here. The internet is people! The internet is people!

  • Joe Willy Beautiful Loser, Brilliant Failure, Boolean Member

OK, I read it the right way. It made somewhat more sense this time.

  • Rob

"Cite sources that prisons are used to house the insane and addicts?"

Hows about this - Why don't you start with citing sources that support your initial premise?

From the CDC and why LSC are asking for the antidote be found in every school.

    http://www.cdc.gov/drugoverdose/epidemic/

  • "Rogers Park has a major problem with prescription pain medications like Vicodin and OxyContin"??

Says who (besides Brucey)? And waving vaguely in the direction of the CPD is not a substantive reply.

  • TiredofScumbagPoliticians Need A New Leader

You are 100% correct in this post too! Far too many kids are utilizing the "Hillbilly Heroin" type addictive drugs for recreational use. Often they begin by getting into their parents pain killer prescription medications.

  • TiredofScumbagPoliticians Need A New Leader

I live close to the Greenleaf/Glenwood Trilogy Center. I am told they have good services available to the community, but the concept that they are an outpatient only facility which concentrates a group of potential codependents together on the public way with no control is a recipie for chronic relapse.

  • Bruce_ Comment by TBD, whom you've muted

The corner of Morse and Glenwood is particularly troublesome.
Wonder how much those addicted loiters contributed to the shuttering of the Mayne stage.

  • Tired --
"Far too many kids . . . " Name two.

  • Braxter

Bruce your personal experience and insight into the world of drugs around Rogers Park is impressive. Do you share that information with the kids you mentor and coach?

  • Bruce_ Comment by TBD, whom you've muted

Name 2 kids with opiate addiction issues. There is a business on Glenwood that assist with treatment.
Ask them if business is declining.

Need, what makes you think that Trilogy is an "outpatient only facility"? It isn't:

    http://www.trilogyinc.org/services/residential-services

  • TiredofScumbagPoliticians Need A New Leader

They have 4 locations: I was told by one individual in treatment that the 1400 Greenleaf location did not have residential accomodations

  • Bruce_ Comment by TBD, whom you've muted

A number of the repeat quality of life offenders that plague the Morse and Lunt el stop are seeking treatment from Trillogy.
Sadly the treatments are not as effective when every other aspect of their life is in shambles.

  • Kaleigh60626 35 year resident in East RP & Evanston

"Sadly the treatments are not as effective when every other aspect of their life is in shambles."
My husband and I don't always agree, but we concur that if their life is in shambles it is generally because they have made wrong decisions by their own volition. Enabling them through irresponsible spending at the expense of the community is not the solution.

  • Rob

So Kaleigh, you're married huh? So when you asked me that question the other day, was it for your husband?

  • Kaleigh60626 -- You're right. If they had proper grit and gumption they would have been born to middle class parents who lived them, fed them well, and sent them to good schools.

  • Bruce_ Comment by TBD, whom you've muted

Once those kids are tossed from the wilmette mc mansions and end up in RP IT'S pretty horrible.
Now if your coming from Englewood then RP looks like the north pole.

I doubt that Trilogy's headquarters on Greenleaf have clients living there, but they have had residential facilities elsewhere in the community for many years. Bruce again seems to be trying to spread the misinformation that Trilogy is a drug-treatment center. It isn't. Trilogy serves the mentally ill, some of whom are substance abusers.

  • Bruce_ Comment by TBD, whom you've muted

Helen my post indicated that Trillogy serves a broad spectrum of the community.
I am proud to have Trillogy in my back yard so to speak.
What I am looking to do on this sire and life in general is help people connect the dots to lead the most productive life possible.
That includes the over and under privileged.

This old posting is from 2015. Is the original poster, Bruce, trying to stir the pot by dragging it up again with hopes of provoking argument and controversy? A posting from three years ago isn't informative. Old news isn't helpful and unnecessary provocation isn't neighborly. What's your point Bruce?

  • Bruce_ Comment by TBD, whom you've muted

Rob, declared and no action is costing lives. The number a prescriptions written are staggering.

  • Rob

Bruce, of course I know that. I was pointing out that dealing with the opioid crisis is yet one more thing that his rubes think is happening but isn't.

  • Bruce_ Comment by TBD, whom you've muted

Yes I see many who think his words = action. There are those in RP who look at crime and don't see the problem

  • Live From Rogers Park

"There are those in RP who look at crime and don't see the problem" Give some examples of persons in RP "who look at crime and don't see the problem". Or is this just a fluffy accusation intended to stir the pot?

  • Helen NoH North of Howard for 55 + years

Up above on Nov. 7, 2015, I commented "41 hours after the post and Bruce has not provided any proof of his headline." Two years and two and a half months later he still hasn't.
