It is not a matter of the moderator not liking something. It is a matter of adhering to the rules of the site. This is not a public forum, as much as some want to talk about censorship. As long as you are reasonable with other members, even if you do not agree with one another, then you certainly will have no issues.
Lisa, it’s hit or miss. One time there was a street cleaning day from 9a-3pm. I came home from the airport at 8pm that evening (I was nowhere near the street during that time that day of the week and hadn’t been in the neighborhood period days before it). I grab a spot that still was open. Go upstairs and go to sleep.
I wake up and go to my car at 7:30am and i had a nasty note written on my window that the city had to clean around my car because I refused to move it and they expect to see me cleaning that area of the street by the day’s end. I called in late, went back inside, printed up a bunch of letters and slid them under doors telling them to out themselves and where to find me because I demanded an apology based on their false claims. I sought out the person here everyday for 7 days, each post less confrontational than the previous. Most didn’t last an hour.
Sometimes the rules don’t matter. People assess your tone and you are screwed. They determine you violated the rules when in a court of law they couldn’t possibly prove you did. Good luck. Speak your mind over here. I’m all for it.
I'll try Rob. Hey, how do you get a post removed within seconds, anyway,Rob? Is there a special way to report a violation that brings urgency to the situation? Is there a kind of 911 way to report violations?
Seriously, lotta snowflakes on this site (not directed towards anyone reading this). Unless someone uses profanity or calls someone a name that wouldn’t be said on your local news, threatens harm, there’s no reason to report anyone. There is way too much of that over here. Wasn’t like that in the old days. Everyone just needs to take a deep breath.
@Rob Henry Kissinger once said that "even paranoiacs have real enemies" and some people are legitimately terrified by that even though, in many cases, it is based on an underlying disorder. Harsh moderation, as Wazzy commented, can be a contributing factor and those poor people need our empathy and compassionate understanding.
