Some ideas please...

  • I was at Corner Bakery Cafe, 360 N Michigan Ave
    Nice!

  • O V

La Fournette in Old Town (lafournette.com), Plum Market (also Old Town) carries breads and sweets from small local bakeries, and you can never go wrong with Whole Foods :)

  • L

Corner Bakery is a chain, if that matters to you. I like Toni's Patisserie at 65 E. Washington.

  • Not sure what you consider "the neighborhood" but two of our favorites are D’amato’s Bakery 1124 W Grand Ave, b/t May St & Aberdeen St and Scafuri Bakery 1337 W Taylor St, b/t Loomis St & Ada St. Both are family run businesses recently taken over by the younger generation with a very fresh inviting feeling but maintaining the old recipes. You must check them both out. Hope this helps.

  • Yes! What GiniAtWork said...

  • D’amato’s Bakery is already on the list, but too far...

  • Leo

D'Amato's....never too far and worth the distance.

  • Sugar Bliss Cake Boutique
115 N Wabash (between Washington and Randolph)
    Chicago, IL 60602
    Phone number (312) 845-9669
They have delicious regular and mini cupcakes, macaroons are excellent and so are their cakes!

  • la Boulangerie Bakery
    915 W Belmont
    312-480-8337
French bakery & café with specialist breads, sweet & savory crepes, quiches, sandwiches & pastries.

Well worth the drive up there

  • Mariano's bakery is pretty good too, near Randolph or the one on Roosevelt, but my favorite is Sugar Bliss Cake Boutique!

Or if you are looking for homemade gelato:
    Ge Pa De Caffe
    60 E Adams St
    Chicago, IL 60603
    Phone number (312) 332-2200

  • Loretta's Bake Shop, 933 W. Randolph
    https://www.facebook.com/LorettasBakeShopAndCafe

    Support local business!

  • Beurrage, 1248 W. 18th St., maybe too far, but top notch.

  • I can't wait to try everyone's suggestions when I'm in those neighborhoods.
