Sposato jumping ship

I hope the 38th ward gets what was given to the 36th ward. Not much.
There has been no improvement in the 36th over the past years. We hoped Nick would have stuck to his guns to help clean up the ward. Oh well guess not. It is easier to just go to a ward that has more union residents. Less responsibilities I guess. Good way to get a nice pension.

  • Minerva truth and facts seem to be foreign to you. Not only in your bought and paid for support of charter schools that reports show to not only not out perform neighborhood schools but often they under perform and your lies you repeat over and over and over on this community message board. We are tired of you. Please move on.

    Truth about the remap.

  • Sposato was MIA in the matter of the unlicensed "social club" at Opal & Belmont. It was like dealing with Rice. We turned to Cullerton who got it shut down.

Any aldermanic debates coming up in 29th Ward?

Would like to cover them if possible. Anyone or anything exciting that I should know about going on in Galewood and Mont Clare? pioneerlocal.com

  • Any churches in the community have any interesting programs or events going in Galewood or Mont Clare this week?

  • The Brook held something with the Alderman just recently. They are located on Oak Park and one block south of Belmont. You can visit there website. Google The Brook Chicago.

Woman going door to door for "utility board"

There was an attractive asian woman going door to door last night on 2700 Mont Clare- she said she was with some sort of "utility board" and asked if we got a letter from a utility.. Long story made short- she asked to see a utility bill from my house My thought is that if she could get peoples information about their utility or their account number then at some point maybe the company she worked for could switch your service. I would err on the side of caution if this woman comes to your house. I didn't show her a bill and would advise people not to. Not sure what she was up to.

Young woman gave me a bouncy, "Hi; how are you?" and I said, "not well" and she asked, "Oh; what's the matter"?". Red flag number two. Bye bye. I was feeling fine - whole thing was suspicious. Not the first time this has happened, similar scenario, possibly the third in a couple years. I'm lucid and conduct my own business according to my needs - not door to door in this day and age.

  • Agree it was suspicious. She also came to my house. Asked me how many dogs I have which I found weird. Didn't let her in my house. Found it odd she could not give me a number or website.

Campaign Signs - no permission.

So I thought to put a campaign sign on someone's property you had to have their permission? Did this change? Our neighbors do not live in the house and it is currently boarded up but the house is far from abandoned. I asked them if they gave permission for the sign and they said no. So my question to the Aquino campaign is why would I vote for you if you cannot even follow simple campaign rules? I you'd like to get your message out to my neighbors contact me directly (I head up our block club) and we can set up a meeting. Another candidate has already reached out in this way. I don't know if I personally will vote for him yet but I do know that I appreciate that he would rather talk with myself and my community than slapping a sign where he thinks no one will care.

  • Good Afternoon neighbors! Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I am proud to say that my great volunteers only put up signs when they receive explicit permission from a resident or business owner. If one of our volunteers has placed a yard sign in an inappropriate place, please...

Good Afternoon neighbors! Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I am proud to say that my great volunteers only put up signs when they receive explicit permission from a resident or business owner. If one of our volunteers has placed a yard sign in an inappropriate place, please reach out to our campaign office at (773) 844-9481. We will remove the sign immediately.

Alonso, Chris and Omar are all smart guys and I have the utmost respect for all three. I do believe I am the best candidate and I look forward to discussing why at the debate on February 5th. The 36th Ward deserves more than finger pointing and name calling though. Lets make sure that yard signs are placed appropriately, but after that can we please discuss issues that are relevant to our neighbors. Thank You!

Finger pointing? Hmmm...I see this as an issue...a big one in fact, because if you (general term for candidate) can not follow simple rules during a campaign how can I trust you to listen to and take care of my needs once in office? I'm happy to boast that our block is an active community that has worked WITH our current Alderman (Tim Cullerton) to find solutions for problems from cleaning up a vacant house and aiding the city in evicting gangbangers from rentals in the area. These solutions have benefitted not only our block but the community as a whole.

Speaking for my house, we are looking for an Alderman who takes our concerns, no matter the severity, seriously and is willing to work with us to find solutions instead of trivializing them.

Gilbert, I appreciate that you took the time to write here today and I look forward to hearing why you feel you are the best candidate. Your campaign manager has been in touch with me and we are trying to set up date and time for you to address our block club as well as Chris and Alonso.

Looking For a Plausible Reason

Neighbor is caretaker for a family member and has city designated reserved handicapped spot...and chooses instead to park in the space behind that spot. There are enough spaces on the street to fit 8-9 cars, including her spot. There are 10 apartments facing the street and at least 3 of those apartments have 2 cars. To recap then - 13 cars/9 spots when nobody parks goofy. Why oh why would she not park in her reserved spot?

Oh! Wait! As I sit here typing, I just glanced out the window and my question was answered! She was saving the spot for a particular tennant in her building! She's often outside quarreling with other tennants so this must be one she gets along with. People are strange.

Aldermanic Candidates

By reading EveryBlock and Galewood.net, I learned there are 5-6 candidates for Alderman in the 36th Ward. Villegas, Vittorio, Vazquez, Zaragoza, Aquino and Tenuta.

It's only 3 months until the election.

Villegas, Vittorio and Vazquez are the only three of the group who have made any effort to reveal themselves or any platform to the community. Villegas is the only candidate that I have noticed putting himself out there and showing sincere interest.....with the other two V-guys close behind in...

Villegas, Vittorio and Vazquez are the only three of the group who have made any effort to reveal themselves or any platform to the community. Villegas is the only candidate that I have noticed putting himself out there and showing sincere interest.....with the other two V-guys close behind in enthusiasm. Although a lifelong Chicagoan and primarily a Democrat, there is no way I can support the 26 year old candidate with little life experience just because many of his relatives are machine politicians. Call me cynical but ......

I mistakenly responded to a candidate in the 29th who told me to write to him because his platform would be too long to post on EveryBlock. Another said to look him up on Facebook. (I don't have a FB account because I don't want one; hello?)

Want to win an election guys? Tell us who you are personally, what you've accomplished, how you can make a positive difference and what you can do for your constituents. What makes you the man for the job?
