Ordinance for Dogs

I am looking to find out where I can find information about whether or not a dog can go to the bathroom on the parkway area that is owned by the city. I am looking to find out where I can find information about whether or not a dog can go to the bathroom on the parkway area that is owned by the city. I had a confrontation with my neighbor a couple of weeks ago, and he informed me that I cannot allow my dogs to go to the bathroom on his parkway since he maintains it. I informed him that as long as I was cleaning up after my dogs, that I was within the law. This morning at 4:00, I hit his property and he came outside to harass me. (He must have cameras?) He didn't say anything, just stood there to make sure that my dogs weren't going to the bathroom on his part of the parkway. It seems he has this want to try to intimidate women, as all the women in my area have had issues with him. One even has a restraining order against him. Can someone help me out with this? I am going to the police station today to file a harassment report and have contacted my attorney. Just wonder if anyone else has had this issue?

  • The parkway is cleaned up by owners but the parkway is city owned....he cannot tell you you cannot let your dog's go..he can post signs asking not to....especially if you clean up...suburban rules are different

Residential neighborhood. Oh! Live entertainment. Oh! Mariachis. Oh trumpets, too? Oh great - MC or DJ with microphone - my my - noise level increasing - sounds like they're in my kitchen! Hour later I call police - I mean, my storm windows are down, can't hear my television. Another hour I call again. Two hours later I call again. Go in shower and can still hear both the music and the guy jabbering on the mike. No police response? I guess I have no right to peace and quiet. It's 11:05pm and I'm ready to tear my hair out! What the hell?

  • HoneyBadger resident

I have two sons-in-law that are CPD and they respond to noise disturbances - usually within 30 minutes and both are stationed in two different higher crime districts. I made FOUR calls within 6 hours. The music finally stopped without police intervention at 12:30AM. my head is still pounding. Maybe the guy having the party is a cop, knows a cop, was a cop. I think what aggravates me more than the lack of police response is the party throwers lack of concern for neighbors.

  • You would think that the police department would have deputies riding around for non-emergency calls. The quality of life issue is overlooked by the police department, it seems, in our area. We all have one or two obnoxious neighbors who make noise, burn plastic, yard waste, etc, but get away with it and make our lives miserable because their is no attention to issues like this that drive people away from the city. Are you listening, Rahm?

Lost Dog!

Please let us know if you've seen our dog. A black and gray terrier. She wasn't wearing her collar, but she is micro chipped! She left the yard Sept 27th in the afternoon and we've been searching up and down the area, leaving fliers, etc. Please keep an eye out for her. She's a gentle dog and very missed!

Office Opening

I am proud to announce the opening of my campaign office at 5307 W Fullerton.

I apologize that the location is not as central to the ward as I would like, but it was an offer for a location that was difficult to refuse. If elected Alderman I will find a location for the Ward office that is as centrally located and accessible to everyone in the ward as possible.

If you would like to volunteer on my campaign, have an issue, idea or want to say hello you can reach me at 773 841-0843 or e mail me at jvfor36alderman@gmail.com.

Thanks and looking forward to meeting everyone.

Dear every-block members I would like to a moment to introduce myself as a candidate for the 36th ward.I have lived in the 36th ward over 20 years its where I am now raising my family and its the ward I call home.
I am a 12 year member of the Chicago Fire Department where my current position is in support services as a liaison between the fire department's property management section and the City of Chicago. My role encompasses coordinating logistics and the deployment of resources needed in the repair and/or construction projects associated with the upkeep and maintenance of city fire houses. Through my daily responsibilities I interact, as well as have a great working relations with all city agencies.
Prior to my call to service with the fire department I worked as a Regional District Manager for Atlas Anchoring. As Regional Director I was in charge of managing multiple commercial projects and overseeing them to completion. In conjunction with my office responsibilities I also conducted periodic site inspections to assure our quality of work as well as city code compliance.

Before that I worked for Catholic Charities as a compliance auditor for all social service programs with the state. I also worked at West Side Futures where I assisted in the application, navigation process and/or dealing with any issues relating to social programs such as W.I.C and health care. I was also a translator for Spanish speaking families that didn't speak English.
I do understand that there are many people vying for this position and I hope I will be able to earn your support in the next few months.
If I am not your candidate of choice all I ask is that you participate in the process and hold your choices accountable. I am looking forward to meeting in the future and holding informative and professional debates with the other candidates. i do apologize for the long post.
