Residential neighborhood. Oh! Live entertainment. Oh! Mariachis. Oh trumpets, too? Oh great - MC or DJ with microphone - my my - noise level increasing - sounds like they're in my kitchen! Hour later I call police - I mean, my storm windows are down, can't hear my television. Another hour I call again. Two hours later I call again. Go in shower and can still hear both the music and the guy jabbering on the mike. No police response? I guess I have no right to peace and quiet. It's 11:05pm and I'm ready to tear my hair out! What the hell?

  • Ok. We may be writing a complaint letter to the supervisor of OMEC. If we do, I'll get in touch and ask if I can mention your incident. Right now, the 25th district commander is following up and trying to find out why they weren't informed of the Urban Myth calls last week. Thanks, HoneyBadger!

  • The new system is to call 911 for everything. Calls are not taken by the local police station and they have no way to send out a car. When I call in a non-emergency, I tell the dispatcher right away it is not an emergency, but a police matter that needs immediate attention. I think the situations are triaged and if there are lots of emergencies, the non-emergencies lose out.

I am looking to find out where I can find information about whether or not a dog can go to the bathroom on the parkway area that is owned by the city. I had a confrontation with my neighbor a couple of weeks ago, and he informed me that I cannot allow my dogs to go to the bathroom on his parkway since he maintains it. I informed him that as long as I was cleaning up after my dogs, that I was within the law. This morning at 4:00, I hit his property and he came outside to harass me. (He must have cameras?) He didn't say anything, just stood there to make sure that my dogs weren't going to the bathroom on his part of the parkway. It seems he has this want to try to intimidate women, as all the women in my area have had issues with him. One even has a restraining order against him. Can someone help me out with this? I am going to the police station today to file a harassment report and have contacted my attorney. Just wonder if anyone else has had this issue?

  • The parkway is cleaned up by owners but the parkway is city owned....he cannot tell you you cannot let your dog's go..he can post signs asking not to....especially if you clean up...suburban rules are different

  • I'm interested in this too. I always thought you had to walk so your dog is on the parkway side and clean up afterwards. Some one in the area has a large sign on their parkway saying basically no dogs allowed. Please share what you learn.

  • PetParent Founder of Pets Are Like Family

The parkway is owned by the city. Residents have no ownership rights. That being said, when I see that someone has a nice little maintained garden in their parkway, I don't let my dogs go there just to be courteous. But if it's just grass, then yes, I do and always clean up afterwards. Sounds like this guy has some issues.
