About 6:20 p.m., a 19-year-old man was shot in the foot, leg and side during a possible drive-by attack in the 7800 block of South Vincennes. The man, who had documented gang ties, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he later died, police said.

At 6:15 p.m., a man was shot in the head in the 6800 block of South Western. He was taken to Christ Hospital, where he later died, police said. His age and the circumstances of the shooting weren’t immediately available.

About the same time, a male whose age wasn’t immediately known was shot in the leg in the 2900 block of South Dearborn. His condition was stabilized at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said.

About five minutes earlier, a 17-year-old boy was shot in the 7800 block of South Carpenter. At 10:15 p.m., he was outside when three people walked up and one shot him in the foot, police said. His condition was stabilized at Saint Bernard Hospital.

Earlier Friday evening, a 20-year-old man was wounded in Back of the Yards. He was on the street in the 5100 block of South Morgan when someone walked up and shot him in the hand. His condition was stabilized at Saint Bernard.

About 5:20 p.m., a 35-year-old man was shot in the neck in the 1500 block of South Trumbull. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition, police said.

About 4:45 p.m., an 18-year-old man was in the 7800 block of South Coles when someone opened fire from a passing red vehicle, police said. He took himself to South Shore Hospital, where police said his condition had stabilized.

At 3:30 p.m., a 19-year-old man walked into Holy Cross Hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. The man, who police said has documented gang ties, told investigators someone opened fire from a dark gray vehicle in the 6800 block of South Campbell. He was listed in good condition.

2 dead, 6 others injured, in daytime shootings on South, West sides

The shooting happened about 9 a.m. on the 5100 block of West Division Street, said Chicago police spokeswoman Janel Sedevic.

In the latest shooting, a 19-year-old man was found shot on the 7900 block of South Vincennes Avenue at 6:23 p.m., police said. He was later pronounced dead.

A short time earlier, at 6:15 p.m., police were called to the 6800 block of South Western Avenue, where they found a man with a gunshot wound to his head, police said.

At 5:25 p.m. a man was found shot in a vehicle on the 1500 block of South Trumbull Avenue on the West Side, police said.

At the same time, a 22-year-old man suffered multiple gunshots to his chest on the 00 to 100 block of East 67th Street, said police spokeswoman Bari Lemmon.

At 4:45 p.m. an 18-year-old man was shot on the 7800 block of South Coles Avenue, police said.

At 3:30 p.m. a 19-year-old man was shot on the 6800 block of South Campbell Avenue, police said.
