Whatever it is, it's coming to the Western Blue Line. Obviously they have coffee and snacks of some variety. Other than that, all I can gather is that they have sandwiches. It's a London-based company and so far has very little web presence in the U.S. Their UK website really doesn't have much info, either.
I have so many convenience-food related questions!

Does anyone know what is going on with the White Castle near Addison/Elston/Kedzie?
There is a construciton fence up around the property. I'm guessing it's being remodeled or torn down.

The Bucktown Community Organization is hosting a meeting this week hearing proposals on zoning changes for 2339-59 North Seeley & 2332-34 North Elston in Bucktown.
And a presentation of the ALDI project.
Thought those of us in Logan Square who shop there, or are interested in development, might like to attend. I'm assuming the meeting is open to those who would like to hear about the ALDI project. Wed. 7-8pm. Bucktown Library.

Does this restriction start before or after the sign? I took this picture from where I was parked ( on the corner.) You can see the sign about a third block up. I have been parking here for 2 years with no problems but if I am wrong I will park somewhere else. I could google it but every blockers tend to know it all..

The beat meeting for 1411/1412, which had been postponed due to snow, has been rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 26, at 7pm. Beat meetings are held at St. Nicolai Church, 3000 N. Kedzie Ave.
In addition to the usual information about crime statistics, police alerts, significant arrests and neighborhood occurrences, this meeting will also feature a information on bicycle theft prevention.
With Spring approaching (allegedly), people will be using their bikes more often. With more bikes out, the number of bicycle thefts increases in spring/summer. Get some tips from CPD members who are also cyclists on protecting your bike from theft.

Hey all! My friend started this Facebook page for gardeners in Avondale who might want to swap seeds, seedlings, and harvests this year. She's thinking of rounding up folks in Brands Park throughout the season. If you're interested, check it out!

Does anyone know what's happening in the building across from Scofflaw (MuveMusic building) on the NW corner of Kedzie and Armitage? My boyfriend received a hint from someone at Scofflaw that "something good" was coming, but no more details were offered. I also wondered if anyone had heard any plans about anything coming into the other vacant buildings on the north side of Armitage in that general area (for example, there are a few vacant storefronts between the cleaners and Walgreens, east of Kedzie)?

Does anybody know how one might go about getting information on available retail space in the area?
I live the neighborhood and have noticed so many empty storefronts on Milwaukee Ave. just west of the square. I can't find any info on whether these are available, who owns them, or how to get in touch with the landlord. It seems like such prime space yet so much of that stretch is sitting empty.
Appreciate your thoughts!

Pet Supplies Plus- 3640 N. Elston (773) 583-2288.
Usually held to the side of the building. Line forms, but I kept my dog in the car until it was my turn. Shots, etc. We had a good experience. The prices are good if this is what you are looking for. This location is run by amazing people. I've gone here for years.

Hi all. I met a lot of people at the post office on California while sending my mail in order for tickets who were doing the same. I was wondering if anyone in our area has received rejection letters or any news on tickets? I haven't gotten anything so hoping some of you have some updates? Thanks all!

Anyone know of an update to the development of an LA Fitness in the former Olympia Carpet building at California & Diversey? Past reports indicated an early 2015 opening, but one look at the building and it appears that all construction has ceased with no end in sight.

Anyone know of any alternatives to Comcast for Internet? They were the only provider servicing my area in 2010, but I'm getting pretty tired of high fees and constant outages. Curious if anyone has any tips for keeping it under $70/month—or better yet, an alternate provider. Looks like other options could include ATT or RCN...I'm just not sure if they service Logan Square currently. Thanks in advance!

At the eastern end of Logan Blvd ~100 unofficial factsheets were posted on residential entryways & parked vehicles claiming that 3 blocks of streetside parking would be prohibited for a significant timespan due to the filming of a tv show. It included a paragraph on the beneficence of such operations to the neighborhood & municipal economy, which I initially granted with indifference, until someone raised the question of limits to the rights of residents vis-à-vis the film production, & who mediates their claims? Perhaps they do have a permit, perhaps the streets are public property & generate municipal revenue, perhaps they do benefit nearby businesses, but do they have the right to occupy a neighborhood without the consent of the residents, or to arbitrarily cancel numerous taxpayers' parking places, or to take exclusive ownership of the profits on residents' maintainence of neighborrhood ambience, how is the Alderman speaking for or accountable to their constitutents, ...?
While not intending to be so pessimistic or litigious, I'm more interested in neighbors' standpoint on this filming, so what are your thoughts?

Wondering at what point people plan to remove their lawnchairs/crates? How much does the snow have to melt? Asking in seriousness because, from the forecast, it looks like it might not melt completely before we get hit with the next storm. What are the rules in this situation?
The Chicago Board of Elections is looking for standby judges to work election day, Tuesday, February 24th. You do not need to be a registered voter or live in the City of Chicago and you don't need experience. You do need to attend a training class and report to Harold Washington College on election day at 5am. If you're called to a polling place to work, you'd be driven there and back. Call the Board (312) 269-7984 and ask for the HR dept.

"Stephen Hasson, who has been chef de partie at Sixteen at the Trump Tower and Alinea, and has worked alongside Patrick Sheerin at the Signature Room, is opening his own restaurant."
The Italian restaurant, which Hasson, 30, describes as a modern diner, is slated to open this summer in Logan Square.
it's going to be right across the street from the fancy italian place we got last year, Osteria Langhe --
wonder if that will finally put the kibosh on the after hours bad behavior at the next door sushi joint...

The block of Troy between Bloomingdale and Wabansia got plowed and salted (to the pavement) but stopped at the end of the block, just before the corner of Troy and Wabansia, where cars have still be getting stuck regularly, on the hour. Wabansia is also a mess. They did a great job on just that one block. Weird huh, to plow and salt one block, right? It's the block where the Alderman, Maldonado lives. Coincidence?

Just a heads up to anyone having to deal with street parking, make sure you're parking legally, and not just parking your car where ever it fits. When I took my dogs out this am there were at least 4 cars that had been ticketed. I guess they were all parking violations (too close to stop signs, blocking the hydrant), one of them seemed random, it was parked on the street, not blocking a hydrant or driveway or anything else, but the windshield wipers were sticking up on that car, is that not allowed?
Does anyone know why there were so many cops pulling over people on Fullerton Ave between Pulaski and Central Park around 8-9 pm
