Office Opening

I am proud to announce the opening of my campaign office at 5307 W Fullerton.

I apologize that the location is not as central to the ward as I would like, but it was an offer for a location that was difficult to refuse. If elected Alderman I will find a location for the Ward office that is as centrally located and accessible to everyone in the ward as possible.

If you would like to volunteer on my campaign, have an issue, idea or want to say hello you can reach me at 773 841-0843 or e mail me at jvfor36alderman@gmail.com.

Thanks and looking forward to meeting everyone.

Dear every-block members I would like to a moment to introduce myself as a candidate for the 36th ward.I have lived in the 36th ward over 20 years its where I am now raising my family and its the ward I call home.
I am a 12 year member of the Chicago Fire Department where my current position is in support services as a liaison between the fire department's property management section and the City of Chicago. My role encompasses coordinating logistics and the deployment of resources needed in the repair and/or construction projects associated with the upkeep and maintenance of city fire houses. Through my daily responsibilities I interact, as well as have a great working relations with all city agencies.
Prior to my call to service with the fire department I worked as a Regional District Manager for Atlas Anchoring. As Regional Director I was in charge of managing multiple commercial projects and overseeing them to completion. In conjunction with my office responsibilities I also conducted periodic site inspections to assure our quality of work as well as city code compliance.

Before that I worked for Catholic Charities as a compliance auditor for all social service programs with the state. I also worked at West Side Futures where I assisted in the application, navigation process and/or dealing with any issues relating to social programs such as W.I.C and health care. I was also a translator for Spanish speaking families that didn't speak English.
I do understand that there are many people vying for this position and I hope I will be able to earn your support in the next few months.
If I am not your candidate of choice all I ask is that you participate in the process and hold your choices accountable. I am looking forward to meeting in the future and holding informative and professional debates with the other candidates. i do apologize for the long post.

Yesterday's Short Downpour

Did anyone else have problem with water on their street like we did and maybe in their basement? One of my neighbor's pumped water out of his basement, as it poured. We must find solutions to this damaging issue before another major and prolonged rain hits us like the one in April 2013. Please contact our politician for help.

Sposato jumping ship

I hope the 38th ward gets what was given to the 36th ward. Not much.
There has been no improvement in the 36th over the past years. We hoped Nick would have stuck to his guns to help clean up the ward. Oh well guess not. It is easier to just go to a ward that has more union residents. Less responsibilities I guess. Good way to get a nice pension.

  • Minerva what unsupervised youth dealing with drugs in our neighborhood are you talking about? I have gone to the meetings and all of the youth that were there were children of members or reside in the dunning community.

  • Lisa36, did your neighbor friend even go and talk to him or was she too upset that she did not get things her way? If it is a major issue for the city, why not call 311?
