Was our mail in cold storage?

Today (February 24) I received a greeting card posted first class on Feb. 2 and several other important pieces of mail posted at the beginning of the month. My question is, who's in charge over there on Northwest Highway and how can they lose mail for three weeks? I guess I should consider myself lucky though as I did receive the multitude of mayoral and aldermanic election materials.

  • PattyM Concerned Citizen

We have the same problem over and over. Charge bills that never come, news
magazines that are out of date, no mail for three days in a row and then a huge pile.
ANd our mail generally comes between 6 and 7PM if at all.....

  • We have the same problem with mail in Norwood Park. Some days we get no mail at all. Magazines and other mail comes late.

Alderman O'Connor

Now that the aldermanic election is 2 days away, It is hard to believe that the anti Alderman O'Connor dialogue that was so prevalent a few months ago on Every Block has literally dwindled to nothing when ideally it should be building to a fever pitch heading into Tuesday's election. Now that the aldermanic election is 2 days away, It is hard to believe that the anti Alderman O'Connor dialogue that was so prevalent a few months ago on Every Block has literally dwindled to nothing when ideally it should be building to a fever pitch heading into Tuesday's election. In her four years in office, our surly, do nothing alderman has been nothing but a go along puppet for Mayor Emanuel. Her office staff has been non-responsive and argumentative when requesting their assistance. She has no accomplishments to show for her $100,000+ part time job performance as alderman, and she she has been ineffectual in the airport noise debate. Days before the election then, it is not surprising to find crammed in our mailboxes, 5 -10 glossy photographed filled fliers of her promoting her do nothing self. Some even paid for no doubt by Emanuel, her puppet master. You can tell how utterly clueless and out of touch of our representative she has been by the fact that she includes photographs of herself with Emanuel in her mailings. Like that is going to draw her more votes!? Obviously, I would like to see either of the other viable candidates, Lomanto or Napolitano win the election. But you really have to wonder how realistic that will be with the proliferation of O'Connor yard signs and like I have said the absence of any current anti O'Connor dialogue.

WHAT???????????????????? How about they do their jobs? If any of us did our jobs the way the USPS did their jobs, we'd be fired!

  • Eric Blair Never again!

Cbuzz. We can't even fire our elected thieves?

Greed flourishes where accountability is impotent.

Good work should promote teaching which improves the breed?

    Shall we?

TREE TIME ING AFTER A SNOW STORM?

Where are they going to park on both sides of the 6600 blocks of Onarga?
Not on Northwest highway?
Not on Onarga?
Not in the alley or no alley?

Where are you going to put the snow and ice? In someone yard, alley, sidewalk, shoveled out spot?

Are we going to have fights over what's left or return from vacation/trip to find cars in ponds?

TO TRIM TREES IN FEBRUARY?

Will the trees be restored? When or if?

With all due respect Alderman: what we're you thinking?

Is it one tree in front of a VIP home or what?

Only 10 ×2 who will be displaced;taxpayers want to know!

  • Eric Blair Never again!

That's the job she wanted and never in 21 years did I see this?
I'd just like a straight answer?
The runway is a forgotten issue with her so are we digressing? I can't sleep the same anymore?

  • Eric Blair Never again!

    IMHO And all:

    Sorry bout the spell correct?

Oriole Question

Can anyone enlighten me as to what kind of construction they are doing on Oriole by Edison Park School? Also, why is it taking months to finish (besides the fact that they chose the worst time of year to do it)?

  • PattyM Concerned Citizen

Our daughter lives near there. The city started sewer repair and found the original pipes from the 20s so they decided to do a more extensive job.

  • our church has flooded ever since they did a "more extensive job" Good Luck

US Post Office Delivery Stinks

Our mail on isham street arrives after six most nights and some nights is not delivered. I understand its a difficult job but us mail get more people to do the job so we can get our mail in a timely manner

  • CWCEdisonPark Olympia Park

Great suggestion for those not receiving bills in the mail. Pay on-line or at least receive your bill notification on-line and pay by check. Save a few trees in the meantime. It works well for me.

  • We don't care what time we get our mail as I mentioned in the above comment. I'm a senior that doesn't sit in my window and wait for the mail, but if I wasn't getting my bills ( I pay most on line) I guess I would. With that said, I am truly grateful for our mailman and I do let him know verbally and with a little, "token" at Xmas.

Good Bye Edison /Norwood Park

A three year resident of Edison park I recently packed up and moved . I took a 50k hit on my house and moved due to the horrible airplane noise. The final build out is schedule for 2020 will put an estimated 1.1-1.5 million flights over the Northwest side per year. No one is getting sound insulation except for Ebinger School. The Alderman and Mayor could care less about the quality of life for the people living on the NW side. Nothing will beat the money O'hare makes for the City. Edison/ Norwood Park is a great area filled with great people. Thank for a wonderful three years .

  • Teresa Groat Resident of Old Norwood

My major complaint centered on the classroom size when my sons were attending Norwood Park. Old news since they've long graduated and are in community college, but I was wondering whether the average class size still approaches 40?

  • The noise doesn't bother me much. In fact you could consider me a contributor as I fly out if Ohare at least 30 flights a year. I've lived in EP for decades as have a lot of my friends and no one really complains about aircraft noise. The newer aircraft...

The noise doesn't bother me much. In fact you could consider me a contributor as I fly out if Ohare at least 30 flights a year. I've lived in EP for decades as have a lot of my friends and no one really complains about aircraft noise. The newer aircraft have quieter more fuel efficient engines which lowers polluting emissions.
What bugs me most about EP is the lousy Snow plowing, speeding motorists cutting thru the hood, inattentive Alderwoman (just as useless as the former Alderman) and the ridiculously expensive parking on Northwest Hwy.
