Get your patience ready while you going to see Alderman Zalewski

Get your patience ready while you going to see Alderman Zalewski or hear from him for the first time in 4 years. Chicago politics are as bad as we know or as bad as we don't know to acknowledge them. With 4 candidates hungry for the 23rd Ward Zalewski and his team will utilize all 7 different tactics and then more for sure! Read this great article about what Zalewski already is doing to knock out any contenders. Can't wait to see how it ends, but I rather see other people do as I am planning to do which is vote for anyone but Zalewski! http://www.buzzfeed.com/urbanvoice101/top-7-ways-chicago-incumbent-aldermen-will-try-to-uru9

The Cook County Board of Review is currently open to accept property valuation appeals for West Chicago Township. My office is partnering with 28th Ward Alderman Jason C. Ervin to host a property valuation appeal forum for West Chicago Township for those who believe the value of their property has decreased, while their tax assessment has remained high.

Attending this session will provide you with the opportunity to address any concerns you may have regarding the 2014 property tax cycle. My office will assist you in properly preparing your appeal, which will be payable in 2015. Please be sure to bring your property tax bill and other evidence you believe provides proof of your property’s true value, such as a current appraisal.

Property owners may also submit property valuation appeals online at www.CookCountyBoardOfReview.com or at the office of Commissioner Larry Rogers, Jr. in the Cook County Building located at 118 N. Clark, Room 601, Chicago, IL 60602.

The Board of Review does not assess property, set tax rates, or collect taxes. The Board of Review is charged with handling all property valuation appeals in Cook County. There is no fee to file an appeal, and in most cases an attorney is not necessary.

For further information about appealing property taxes, contact Commissioner Rogers’ office at (312) 603-5540. Office hours are Monday – Friday 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
