Petsmart 6 corners

Would like to know 1. Is there a estimated opening and completion date for the petsmart next to jewel? 2. If petsmart already has the property why the for lease sign is still in the window? Reason I ask 2 is when I called a few weeks ago they said property was still available.

6 corners Petsmart?

For some time they have been talking and from what I understand planning for a Petsmart next to jewel by 6 corners. My question is two part. 1. When is the estimated completion/opening dates? 2. If Petsmart already has the spot why is there still a for lease sign in the window?

  • I'm also very curious as to a timeline for opening.

  • pattymelt is mostly in charge

The universe was put on hold while the Chipotle was being built. Now that it is open, I am sure this will move forward.

Mayor Emanuel tours Taft HS

Taft has undergone $18.2 million in improvements. Alderman Mary O'Connor, State Senator John Mulroe and Principal Mark Grishaber accompanied the mayor on the Aug. 26 tour. Taft senior Gladys Recalde introduced the mayor at a news conference at the school.

  • Big Oaks Big Oaks resident since 1979

It's nice to see the mayor up here on the far northwest side. If he even dreams of a second term he needs to be seen and heard on the south side AND the north side. There are issues all over the city. It's also great that Taft H.S. is getting it's due. That building has been put on the back burner for decades.

  • Good to see Taft getting some well needed repairs. The new windows look great.

  • robin in WRP misanthrope

I knew Mr. Grishaber at Whitney (as a parent while he was assistant principal, not while he was a student); he is fantastic, and Taft is lucky to have him.

Shop & Save

Anybody know when it will finally open? Can't find an update anywhere.

  • Last I had heard was early August...and that didn't happen...are they decorating the inside like the Taj Mahal or what???!!!
It's getting really annoying and remains seriously inconvenient to not have a nearby grocery store. Happy Foods on NW Hwy is the next closest for me but their breadth of selection is sometimes lacking. And Jewel at Oakton /Milwaukee never seems to be properly staffed.
Shop and Save...your public awaits you!!!

  • Last week the parking lot was filled with semi-trucks. Not sure if that means they are stocking shelves now or just getting fixtures in place.

We checked the scales last time & the one vendor had a marked weight handy for anyone to confirm readings. They did note they'd found a problem with there scale a month ago, as it had gotten banged around in transit. They've since fixed it and are making every effort to alleviate concerns.

Watch for fingers on the scales!

  • evam eva s, jpna member

Pls. don't let an unfortunate incident stop you from attending the Jefferson Park Sunday Market. It's wonderful just to have it in our neighborhood. If you feel you have to be extra careful, mention it to that vendor and, I am sure, he/she will be glad to make things right. Please come again.

  • Merril Jefferson Park Sunday Market manager

And actually the vendor did discover a problem with the scale, fixed it & had a test weight handy today in an effort to cooporate and put people at ease.

Pot Holes

Be careful on Sayre between Higgins and Gregory. Potholes are very deep, infact the whole street is in need of repaving.

  • Yes, and it is not right. I am not even talking far south, am talking 15th street south. I wonder how bad far south is. Even cell phone coverage gets crappy in Austin neighborhood. Why is that?

  • who knows!
