Does anyone know when or if the Jewel grocery store in clark and division will be built?

Does anyone know anything about the Jewel that is suppose to be built on clark and division and if so, when?

    Sheridan and other neighbors,
Just FYI. The red brick building that occupies the block across Division St. from the Jewel between Clark and LaSalle streets is a CHA low-income senior apartment building. I believe this is what is being called a "retirement home" by Chris. The CHA has, in the past, allowed younger low-income disabled people and children being raised by grandparents to live in their senior buildings. CHA is supposed to restrict others than tenants from staying in the building. There do seem to be some low-slung, high-powered cars in the building's parking lot that seem inappropriate to me as vehicles driven by seniors, but that may be my misjudgment.

  • Sherian Lazy right now!

    Hi Gold Coaster,
In regards to the comment by Chris, I didn't read any comment in my question about the Jewel that would refer to the senior building across the street, so I was wondering why he would make a comment in reference to the CHA building. Being a resident...

    Hi Gold Coaster,
In regards to the comment by Chris, I didn't read any comment in my question about the Jewel that would refer to the senior building across the street, so I was wondering why he would make a comment in reference to the CHA building. Being a resident of the area now for 10 years I really would like the area to be cleaned up for I can also see that some of the hangers around the stores on the west side of Clark are sometimes up to no good, and yes those cars show exactly where they come from.
I have serious doubts as to the restrictions of the CHA building and the comings and goings of the people in that building leave lots to be desired.

The name is Sherian, an ancient Celt name and family name.
    Thank You.
