Free grooming or day care for your dog...

Hi Everyone, Happy Hounds is going for a second try on a crowd-funded loan so they can open a second location. If you already take your pet to Happy Hounds then you know it is in good hands.

Not only are they offering to pay back with interest, but some of the perks include free grooming or many days of day care for your pet. I invite everyone to take a look at their campaign. http://bit.ly/1tFYjYo

Find out how taxes/TIFs in the 27th Ward have been spent

Just saw this and thought others might be interested.

There is a free meeting about how our taxes/TIFs in the 27th Ward have been spent and allocated, and more. The meeting is on Thursday, November 6, from 6:30pm - 8:30pm, at 1044 W Randolph St.

I’ve always wondered where our taxes were going, how it was being spent, and whether it was being spent on things needed, like parks, schools, traffic relieve.

The meeting is being hosted by Gabe Beukinga, candidate for 27th Ward Alderman, and Tom Tresser of the CivicLab TIF Illumination Project.

Car upside down on Webster

Yesterday, around 5:30pm there was a car upside down on Webster and Wayne- seemed to be a terrible car accident, though I have no idea how a car could end up windshield down on the pavement. We called 9-1-1 but the paramedics were already on their way.

Does anyone know what happened/if everyone was ok?

Best Auto Repair Shop

I just wanted to let everyone know how much I like my auto repair place. Yes, that's right, a compliment, not a complaint. I started visiting Accurate Imports about 20 years ago. Rudy and Robert, two German guys, ran the place at Lincoln and Wrightwood. Several years ago when R&R retired, the workers, Oscar and his team, took over the business. It's now at 4329 W. Addison, a bit beyond Lincoln Park but well worth the drive. They do excellent work, are incredibly honest and have reasonable rates. Today I needed them to pull a screw out of my tire, insert a plug and add air. Total bill - $0.00!! I love these guys.

  • Bob

Did they place a "plug" through the tire or did they glue a "patch" over the hole from the inside? The proper repair would have been a patch. If they put in a plug, they damaged your tire. A patch would be safer.

  • Bob, you are right, the old style plugs caused a lot of problems. But, my guys are very sharp and up on the latest products. There is a new type of plug that is kind of stringy. It is safe for tires and works as well as or better than a patch.
