Wine Bar

I am looking for a good wine bar in Lincoln Park or Lakeview to host a get together of 25 or so people during a weeknight, any ideas?

  • Jason1977 Pretty new to Pilsen

    Trellis is a nice option.

  • DOC wine bar on Clark is nice and has a back room for groups that can be reserved. Also, it is not usually too busy on M to Wed weeknights.

I can also recommend 404 Wine bar at 2852 North Southport but you would want to call ahead to see if they have space for a group of 25.

  • Webster's Wine Bar would have been a good choice, but they've moved to Logan Square, if that's an acceptable alternative. Coppervine is a restaurant at 1962 N. Halsted, however they focus on pairing of food with specific wines/drinks. Might be a fun spin.

Looking for a room for three months

Hi I`m Giulia,
I`m here in Chicago for a few months for an internship and I`m looking for a room.
Actually I`m in a far West area but I don`t feel very comfortable. Is there anyone that can help me?

Thank you

  • Yes, if you look under temp leases/ subleases, people have places available for 2-3 month periods. Some specifically for people who are completing an internship.

  • What are the exact dates? Where is your internship? We have a room that we rented to an intern at Alinea a while back.

Temps Rising in Traffic Hell?

As in many parts of Chicago, it seems more money, time, and attention has been invested into red-light cameras than has gone into synchronizing our traffic lights. Lincoln Park is no exception. If anyone knows specifics on traffic plans to accommodate this significant addition to our neighborhood, please let me know.

Dinotto Ristorante in Old Town is Moving

Throughout 25 years and two incarnations, Dinotto Ristorante on North Avenue has dished out Italian-American staples to the Old Town residents and theater crowd. In less than two weeks, Dinotto will embark on a third incarnation—at a different location.

Throughout 25 years and two incarnations, Dinotto Ristorante on North Avenue has dished out Italian-American staples to the Old Town residents and theater crowd. In less than two weeks, Dinotto will embark on a third incarnation—at a different location.
Dinotto Ristorante, originally Trattoria Dinotto when it opened in 1989, will close this Sunday, September 21 due to failed lease negotiations and relocate around the corner to 1551 N. Wells Street. Planning to open in mid-October, the new location will be a little different, focusing on quick-fired Neopolitan pizzas from a 1000-degree oven imported from Naples with a few signature dishes from Dinotto Ristorante
Longtime chef/owner Dino Lubbat says he recently became a certified pizzaiolo from the Association of Authentic Neapolitan Pizza and will crank out charred pies in 90 seconds utilizing hand-crushed San Marzano tomatoes and house-made mozzarella. Charcuterie, antipasti, pasta, wine and craft beer will also be on the menu.
Lubbat describes the new space's design as "modern Italian" and will incorporate stone, brick, and "modern materials with a hint of tradition." Formerly the wine spot Flight 1551, the location seats around 60-70.
Lubbat is both excited for the new spot and wistful about the original that's closing in 12 days. "Lots of memories were made and we hope to make a lot more happy, filling memories with our next baby."

Sounds like it is going to be great.

Good luck Dino!! Can't wait to stop by for some pizza!!

Goodwin heater/AC fan running high and loud

I don't see any external knobs with which to regulate the fan speed, so it pushes the air vey loudly. If you are familiar with this brand, please advise or suggest someone who can help me. Thanks!

I know 2 guys that do bathroom remodel work. They aren't the cheapest but they are reliable (show up early and every day scheduled) and do the job right (they won't let you put in something that they know is a junk product, so it will last you and not need to be redone 4 years later). Best of all they are quick, efficient, and don't make a huge mess ( they will seal off the area and keep all the dust there not all over your place). If you are interested let me know and I will get the number for you.

  • Try Sir Grout. They do a great job and are located in Lincoln Park
