Tree Cutting 60644

Does anyone know why so many random trees are being cut down in Austin, especially on tree lined streets closest to Austin Blvd. It seems so random. Tree trimming crews descend upon the community each spring and trim the same trees repeatedly throughout the summer. Does anyone know why so many random trees are being cut down in Austin, especially on tree lined streets closest to Austin Blvd. It seems so random. Tree trimming crews descend upon the community each spring and trim the same trees repeatedly throughout the summer. They butchered the Maple tree in front of my neighbors house while she was at work a few times in one summer. It was literally only half a tree before they stopped. In addition to our crime watch we now have a "tree watch" on our block. Retired neighbors or anyone at home keep a look out for rogue city crews. It sounds funny (or like a weird metaphor) but now the crews are taking down young and mature trees and leaving stumps behind. Called the alderman's office...no response yet. Is this happening in any other areas?

Solution to this &#^#&ing TV Bill!

Our cable TV is too expensive for what we use, and it just went up. We need good Internet for work and school, but we only watch a few channels these days. I was researching options. Mostly ATT, Dish TV, Directv and Comcast are in our area. I found a site that finds service with TV channels you watch: www.10channels.com. It found a TV/Internet combo that would saves us $55/month with a switch to Direct.

There's also a good option for ATT. I am going to call the number and make the change. Just wondering if any of you have Directv or ATT Internet? Any advice is helpful!

  • Whenever my rates go up - I'm with Comcast - I call the "discontinue service" line and tell them their rates are way too high for me. Then they review my package and ALWAYS give me a better deal - usually about $20 less than what I was paying before. This strategy should work for most any service provider. Good luck!

I have ATT internet. Speed is not comparable to Comcast, but it costs less and I can live with that!

Fast Internet and Best TV Provider?

I need your advice. We are paying so much for cable from Comcast and only watch a few channels. I've been looking for something better in our area. My brother told us about www.10channels.com where you choose channels you watch, then it finds matching packages in your area. Is Comcast the best provider for Internet? I am either going to lower my tv package or switch to DIRECTV and keep Comcast Internet. Thoughts & Recommendations?

  • gpblight 15 Yr East Garfield Resident

For,those who don't know...smart Tvs may eliminate the need for cable. The Tv itself hooksup the owner to a myriad of Free contemt including apps, new chanels like Huffington Post and other non channel broadcasts. cable will be dead when consumers can get the content they want from FREE Smart tvs.

  • Interesting, thank you.
