List of the worst potholes

Trying to compile a list of some bad potholes across the city. I'm aware of of the city's pothole tracker app, but with so many across the city, I figured you all might know better some particularly bad potholes left after the winter that are on your everyday commute.

If so, please specify which block or closest intersection and a brief description.

Also, is there any Chicago street that is considered especially pothole-ridden to the point that you try to avoid it?

Thanks,

Tony

Embattled Sawtooth Nightclub Getting Kicked Out of Building, Officials Say

Early Saturday, a 29-year-old man was critically injured in a shooting near Sawtooth at 1350 W. Randolph St. The shooting near the nightclub was the latest in a series of incidents which prompted a neighborhood meeting in January.

About 1:50 a.m. Saturday, a man was standing in the 1300 block of West Randolph Street when he heard shots and felt pain, according to police. The shots were fired near the front of Sawtooth., a source confirmed.

Michael Roberts, who co-owns Prairie Production, a photography studio and private event venue at 1314 W. Randolph St., said promoters that Sawtooth owners use to pack the lounge are a big part of the problem.

Neighbors "across the street and living at the corner of Ada and Randolph, I see them as being in grave danger," he said. "They are within gunshot range."

Chuy says "he knows violence"in new debate

He should, his son is a self admitted gang member!

  • Bger East Village neighbor

    Robrob
I know you are referring to Mikeg but the way it's written sounds like I'm your neighbor which I am not. Look I have a really horrible neighbor which I wish would go away. But I'd never say or write that publically. I know I just did but no one knows who I am referring to.

  • Yes I was referring to mikeg, and you are right to assume my statement was a hypothetical.
Obviously I don't care about telling him to move in a public forum.

How they'd have to pay for it is to outsource janitorial services etc. Or they'd pay $15 and lay off people so there'd be fewer janitors etc. Either way in the instance of the schools, people would lose jobs. I'm not saying this would apply to the private sector. With the schools' huge debt and no way to raise more funds to pay salaries the schools would have no choice but to layoff people.

We like Skinner, but my daughter's second grade classroom (neighborhood) now has 37 (yes, that's right, 37) students! Kudos to Ms. Katie Schwartz for her ability to keep her students focused and challenged, all the while maintaining order and calm.

  • Skinner Elementary School reviewed by a parent

We have been very happy with our experience at Skinner West Elementary School. Our daughter is in the classical program there. Before attending Skinner West she was bored and had started to dislike school. This has completely changed since attending Skinner West. She absolutely loves school! While we have a bit of a commute to school, it is well worth the drive. In my opinion, I believe that Skinner West has two main factors working for it: First, I am very impressed with the teachers. They appropriately challenge students and work with students to develop studying skills that are necessary to achieve success academically. Second, the students in her class are all high achievers. Finally, it is 'Cool' to be good at school. These two factors synergistically work together to create a culture that promotes intellectual growth and a health amount of academic competition. Another benefit of Skinner West is the after school star program. They organize a myriad of activities after school while still providing quiet study hall time so that students will finish HW before heading home. Over all - at least for our family - Skinner West is a complete gem!
