Peterson and Kedvale

Anyone know what's going on with the old tile store on Peterson and Kedvale? Scaffolding set up in front, doing some exterior work. Just curious. Thanks!

  • robin in WRP Tired and Cranky

Habitat for Humanity is relocating on Peterson, somewhere in that general area

  • What would I do without this site? Thanks so much for the info.

Comcast

Spent FORTY MINUTES on the phone with Comcast listening to them tell me about all the wonderful ways they could save me money. In case you are unaware of it, they will soon be charging you an extra $5/month for the privilege of receiving your bill in the mail. Thought you'd like to know now so you could go to bed tonight feeling lucky!

Flew - we dumped cable two years ago, and never looked back. We have a roku. I highly recommend adding play-on (look for coupon codes before you buy); it's essentially like Comcast on demand) and netflix. My sole complaint is not having any free/low cost options for watching Hawks game on tv; there are plenty of online options though.

  • Flew That… WGN, ABC, CBS, NBC, all have online access to their shows and news. ABC is the only one that makes you wait a week to see their shows, but the others release shows the following day. A smart TV will play Hulu, Netflix and YouTube with no problem....

A smart TV will play Hulu, Netflix and YouTube with no problem. I do not miss broadcast TV and I only see things I really want to see, now that I am in complete charge of programing. You don't need a dish… just your internet connection and a smart TV. I use my iMac most of the time, but my iPad and laptop also play anything I want to see.

Drop those Comcast creeps! They are charging more because they see their days are numbered! Saving $1200+ a year feels so good!

    :-D

Re-Post: SCAM: The Chicago Environmental Society/The Chicago Children's Club

I'm technically a Lincolnwood resident but, given the proximity to Sauganash/Edgebrook, I thought this was worth posting. Essentially this same story, but "Harold" has now moved his scam further up north:

http://chicago.everyblock.com/crime-posts/oct15-scam-the-chicago-environmental-society-the-chicago-childrens-5438230/

Essentially the same spiel of raising money for childrens shoes and jackets. He claimed to live in the neighborhood just a few streets away and can be quite convincing (even invited me to a supposed Monday night softball league at the local park!). Last I saw him, he...

Essentially the same spiel of raising money for childrens shoes and jackets. He claimed to live in the neighborhood just a few streets away and can be quite convincing (even invited me to a supposed Monday night softball league at the local park!). Last I saw him, he was wearing a Cubs baseball hat and carried a green folder with his fake fundraiser flyer and supposed list of homes that he's visited who made donations. If he knocks on your door, don't let him in and definitely don't give him any money!
