Still hanging on! Lincoln Park's curious cottage on Armitage yet to be developed

We last wrote about the house at 625 W Armitage last November.  Public notices were posted regarding a variance request by an active local developer. Almost one year later the house still remains.

The area of Armitage and Howe is made up of mostly high-end homes, newer condo buildings and vintage condo conversion buildings.  2041 N Howe (just a half block from 625 W Armitage) sold this summer for $3,832,500.00

Temps Rising in Traffic Hell?

As in many parts of Chicago, it seems more money, time, and attention has been invested into red-light cameras than has gone into synchronizing our traffic lights. Lincoln Park is no exception. Goodwin heater/AC fan running high and loud

I don't see any external knobs with which to regulate the fan speed, so it pushes the air vey loudly. If you are familiar with this brand, please advise or suggest someone who can help me. Thanks!

  • I am fairly certain that both Crew and Andersonville Brewery are showing the games. One is in Uptown near Lawrence and the brewery is next to Hamburger Mary's.

  • Matilda at 3101 N Sheffield is showing packers games this year. Talked to the owner and he's got a bunch of specials coming in from Hinterland, Oso, Capital and other wisconsin craft brews throughout the season. Supposedly there's going to be an "official" packer beer released this year and served only a Lambeau and he managed to get a keg.

I know 2 guys that do bathroom remodel work. They aren't the cheapest but they are reliable (show up early and every day scheduled) and do the job right (they won't let you put in something that they know is a junk product, so it will last you and not need to be redone 4 years later). Best of all they are quick, efficient, and don't make a huge mess ( they will seal off the area and keep all the dust there not all over your place). If you are interested let me know and I will get the number for you.

  • Try Sir Grout. They do a great job and are located in Lincoln Park

  • Lincoln Park High School reviewed

Graduated from the I.b program a few years ago, absolutely horrible. Nothing but horrid memories from this institution. They counseling services at this school are close to nonexistent. Despite working extremely hard - I didn't get into my first choice university - nobody cared - all the focus and work was placed toward 2-3 I.b students. I do not recommend this place - if I had the $, I would go to Latin or Francis Parker - way less work and yet I would end up at the university of my choice. Disgusted and ashamed that I went here.

Will they ever bring back BUS ROUTE 11 Lincoln Ave?

Has your life or maybe your business been negatively affected by the removal of the #11 bus route along Lincoln Avenue? Mine certainly has!

It appears that they may be considering to re-active it? Please take a short survey (see link below) And please forward this email to all you know. It is important for our voices to be heard

https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/cta11bus

I want the 11 bus back as much as the next person, but that survey is from Alderman Pawar, who also wants the bus back. He is using it as a tool to help "prove" to the CTA that we need it (we do!). Unfortunately, we have no way of knowing if it will do any good.
