Five people wounded in shootings since Tuesday evening

A 22-year-old man was shot at about 7:45 p.m. on the 4500 block of West Augusta Boulevard in the West Humboldt Park neighborhood, said Police News Affairs Offices Ron Gaines.

About 20 minutes later, a 44-year-old woman was standing on a porch on the 7200 block of South Marshfield in the West Englewood neighborhood when she was shot in the abdomen, Alfaro said. She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where her condition was stabilized, police said.

A 20-year-old woman was shot around 1:10 a.m. in the 7500 block of South Stony Island Avenue in the Grand Crossing neighborhood, Alfaro said. The woman was a passenger in a car driving north on Stony Island Avenue when someone in a white sedan pulled up and fired shots, police said.

The man was shot in the leg in the 4800 block of South St. Lawrence Avenue and was taken to Provident Hospital, he said. No other details were available.

The Riot Fest!?!?

My mom is 70 years old and it sucks she can't enjoy the park she pays so much property taxes for!!! I guess it's the hell with Latinos!!! And I like to know why all Puerto Rican festivals don't have a liquor license but the Riot fest did?!?! Is it cause it's mostly whites attending?!? Just wondering?!?!?

    If you must know I own a few properties there amongst other areas surrounding HP and pay for my mothers building to be maintained and her well being and her safety is number one priority to me. And when I walk up to my mothers home and see vomit in her garden and drunk belligerent people passing her home it doesn't sit well with me at all and by any means. And just an FYI the city has reached out to university's and have asked students to donate their time for service hours to help restore Humboldt park.
