Demolition at 500 N Milwaukee

Everyone is probably already aware, but they are going to start demolition on the eyesore at 500 N Milwaukee this weekend. Just got this email from my association:

"It has been brought to the Association’s attention that the “Kick Off” for the demolition of the 500 N. Milwaukee building will take place on Saturday, January 17th. The entire interior and exterior demolition process will take approximately one month. "

How Taxes/TIFs in the 27th Ward have been spent

I went to this last time, and it was very surprising how our taxes/TIFs in the 27th Ward have been spent. They are having another free/public meeting. This time the meeting is in the Near North with plenty of free parking. I highly recommend attending.

Saturday, January 24, 11:00am - 1:00pm
Marcello’s ~ Father and Son Restaurant
645 West North Avenue

Here is the URL for more information:

The meeting is being hosted by Gabe Beukinga, candidate for 27th Ward Alderman, and Tom Tresser of the CivicLab TIF Illumination Project.
