Greyhound engine noise

Does anybody hear the engine noise from their facility at night? It's becoming quite loud

  • It's been like that forever. As the weather gets colder the buses are warming up. 3, 4, 5AM you can hear it across the river. I adjusted and slept through it by the time winter arrived but it is annoying.

lost dog old town

Staff found a lost dog at twin anchors.need a foster for the night.we called animal control, but prefer he not go there.a little older. Seems sad.

    This is awesome!

You should try Near North Animal Hospital (Wells and Division); they have taken lost dogs in before and were either able to locate the owners or find a foster/ adoptive home.

Atrium Village ??

Does anyone know what is happening with the Atrium Village re-do?

I know that the church-consortium that owned the complex sold to a big developer last spring. Recently there was a news article about what one church did with their proceeds so the sale has definitely been completed and the money distributed.

The City permits were approved some time ago. Are the buildings at Wells and Division being emptied?

What's the building west of City Farm on Division?

Does anyone know what the new building is that is almost completed at about 450 West Division? This is the building just west of the City Farm.

It’s all windows on the east side suggesting residential; it’s all cinder block on the west side suggesting prison. There are three very large garage doors. But the real oddity are the huge balconies that are on the north end facing into nearby buildings – as opposed to being on the south end looking out onto downtown.

If it is really residential let’s hope the buyers are told that the City Farm announced years ago that their end was near for that specific spot because developers were making building plans.

  • Jon Hiatt, RA LEED GA Architect in Old Town

The building in reference is a 8 Unit Multi-Family residence with 8 garage spots for parking. The most likely reason behind the near blank CMU wall on the west side is because the architect or developer are assuming a building will be built beside it in the near future. The...

The building in reference is a 8 Unit Multi-Family residence with 8 garage spots for parking. The most likely reason behind the near blank CMU wall on the west side is because the architect or developer are assuming a building will be built beside it in the near future. The east side has a street adjacent to it, which will at least provide views to the street even after the proposed building at city farm is constructed; the higher units still may have a view of the skyline after city farm is replaced.

  • Randi Doeker Environmental activist

Thanks. It is still a mystery why the balconies went on the end that absolutely do look into buildings while the north end looks out onto a wide street.

That building is a mess -- I live across the street and I've been watching the construction process. It's been slow and the building is showing a lot of signs of sloppy construction. At one point in the spring, a pile of newly-laid cinder blocks from the roof was blown by strong winds off the roof onto Division St. A few weeks ago I saw a Cease Construction notice put up on the building because the contractor's license had expired. I'm not sure what's going on behind the scenes with that building, but it doesn't look hopeful. Even if it gets finished, the building looks like it's going to be pretty ugly.

Essa Dora on Wells in Old Town

This salon just opened in Old Town. I've followed my stylist here because I've been with her for five years and can't imagine having anyone else cut my hair!! When I moved I needed someone new to do my color and they have a wonderful colorist.... I wish I'd met him years ago!!!

I was so happy with my experience at Essa Dora I've booked all of my appointments with them for the next year.
