Hello, Neighbours

I am an out of town investor and I am wondering what the neighbourhoods along 61st street are like? Would this be considered a war zone?

Well Mr.Investor that is a part of E.W problem the investors rent to anyone ,sec 8.drug addicts then the home owners have to pray, clean up after adults because investors don't do thorough back ground checks,We need investors who rent to tenants they want to live next door to not just someone to get a check from.I have had to call Landlords who don't live no where near here abou cutting their grass only to be asked do I call on other Landlords, yet when he was trying to get the property he was all smiles and painted the house green like mine and is the worst landlord ever.I have lived here 38yrs and I don't consider this to be a war zone.U know what's funny is that u would buy property in a place with a title like that,I know it's cheap. So who cares just give me some money. There are a lot of us who have raised our children here and call this place home and we are not druggies, baby mamas. We care about our community despite what the media shows u,we care and are hardworking people.Don't put all of us in a box,I am the good in Englewood, when u come to buy,act like you will be living in the house fix it up,do monthly insp, not just at rent time.Take pride in a community that gets no respect but we demand it.Politicians don't care we vote because we should.David Moore will be our new alderman 17th Ward so I know great things are coming our way.U be blessed

    Hi Tina,

Your passion for your neighbourhood is strong and proud, and hearing your comments with those of others tells me that the residents of this community will defend their neighbourhood with every fiber of their being, and that is AWESOME!!!
Thank you for your suggestion, investors and landlords owe it to the community to ensure that their tenants are people who will value and care for their community as much as their neighbours. I will keep this in mind in future , no matter where I invest.
I am really becoming attached to the spirit of this neighbourhood.

    Mark
