Lincoln Park Good Whites And Blacks Please Help Monitor The Racist Culture Of E.B. Rogers Park.

For Over 3 Years E.B. Rogers Park Has Had A Reputation For Racist Chatter And Homo-Phobic Statements. 49th Ward Alderman Joe Moore Refuses To Denounce The Racist Culture Of E.B. Rogers Park Because They Are His Doners. We Believe That A Simple Cross Reference Of 49th Ward Alderman Joe Moore Doner List With The Identity Of Those Who Post Racist Comments On E.B. Rogers Park Will Show That 49th Ward Alderman Joe Moore Has Collected Money From People Makeing Racist, And Homo-Phobic Statements And We Want Him To Give It Back And We Want All Who Posted Hate On E.B. Rogers Park To Be Outed.

  • Black Angel Black Is Beautiful

We reported E.B.Rogers Park To The USDOJ, The news media, and we also believe @ least 1 to be a. a C.P.D So we publicly asked for C.P.D Internal Affairs to investigate our claim and monitor E.B.Rogers Park.

Undecided voters...what would get you to vote for either Mayoral candidate?

On the fence? Any one thing that would sway your opinion?

I don't know that I'm voting for Chui or Rahm. For me, I'd reconsider Rahm if he immediately implemented a Mayoral 2-term limit; and if he convinced the aldermen to implement a 3-term-limit on Aldermen (grandfathering existing Aldermen, oh, of course), I think he'd run away with the race. So much of the trouble we're in now could've been avoided if we didn't have a life-time Mayor sitting on fixing the major issues whilst hoping for good luck to occasionally sweep them away.

Dog Sitter?

Many good reviews and a couple good leads on rover.com, but we're curious to know if any LP neighbors here can recommend a good dog sitter.

  • I love rover.com! We have the greatest gal for our 16 year old Jack Russell! She makes him feel right at home and he is not stressed out when he comes back home. Her name is Vanessa. We did an overnight to see if everyone was compatible and he bonded quickly with her. We having been using her for over a year now.

  • I have used Sarah Voung for a few years and she is wonderful with my Bichon, Freddy. Here is her info: Email 1: sarahjoanvuong@gmail.com

18X22 ROOM FOR RENT
May 1st

I am looking for a non-smoking, peace loving, cat friendly neat individual to rent a beautiful room in an amazing Arts & Crafts building in the Fullerton and Western area; tree lined street, easy parking, tons of public trans, very safe neighborhood.

The 18X22 room is in the front of the apartment. It is very private, almost like having your own studio apartment. There is a faux fireplace, stained glass windows, ceiling fan, and the front of room is all windows, so lots of light. The apartment is on the second floor so it feels like you are in the trees. The room is large enough for sitting area, office, and bedroom area. Built-in book shelves. Beautiful!

The kitchen is huge and modernized, dish washer, walk in pantry, kitchen is furnished. The bathroom is also huge and very nice, clean, subway tiles, ceiling fan. The coin laundry is in basement. There is some storage available. OK for bike in basement, real safe. 3 units in the building, so the building is quiet. I have 2 cats. No more pets are allowed.

$650.00 per month everything included (rent, utilities, cleaning supplies etc. and housekeeping.) Phone & internet not included. $650.00 security deposit and references required. Apartment available May 1st (preferred) but could be as early as April 15th or as late as June 1st as well.

LOUD BOOM

Hey,

Did anyone hear a very loud boom in the middle of the night last night (03/22) in the alley off of 2500 N Lincoln avenue??? It woke me out of bed! Any idea what is was?

  • Jason1977 Pretty new to Pilsen

I don't live in the area, but many times i've heard similar. It almost always turned out to be a ComEd transformer blowing.

  • Agreed. We had a transformer blow near us last year and it was quite loud.

  • thanks all. That makes perfect sense

Permit question

We are in the process of buying a new duplex (yay!) and once everything is finalized will need/want to do some work on the unit including updating the kitchen and maybe some work on the above garage deck. I know a lot of the work will require city permits. Does anyone have advice on navigating those waters? We've only rented till now so I have no idea what we are getting into. Also any suggestions for designers and/or contractors is greatly appreciated! TIA!!!

  • M G brothers construction. Can't go wrong with this company doing your work. You will need an architect and drawings. They can point you in the right direction. If the building is landmarked the permit process lengthens. Good luck.

  • James Isberner principle- Chicago Ironman

I do this type of work all the time. I would be happy to meet with you and go over the process of any project that you are considering. My company is Chicago Ironman Builders. Give me a call and we can discuss your project.

  • Check out m olson architectural they do great work here in the city and can guide you through the permit process...it's always a pain dealing with the city but they navigate the waters well!

Is Your Alma Mater in the Sweet 16? Here's Where to Watch The Games

Nearly 4,000 Duke alumni call Chicago home, and the Blue Devils' official watch parties are now at LP Stadium, 2423 N. Clark St.

This article has 2 other Chicago locations (Show)

Sedgwick's, 1935 N. Sedgwick St., used to host watch parties for the Duke Blue Devils but now supports the Michigan State Spartans, said general manager and MSU alum Mario Davila. The process to become a recognized alumni hangout is not too complicated, he said.

Side Street Saloon, 1456 W. George St., has many Michiganders on staff and once catered to a big Spartan crowd, said co-owner Joanne Grubich. She recalled playing many Auburn games for fans recently and oftentimes, like many bars, Side Street's viewing options are dictated by its crowd.
