Atrium Village ??

Does anyone know what is happening with the Atrium Village re-do?

I know that the church-consortium that owned the complex sold to a big developer last spring. Recently there was a news article about what one church did with their proceeds so the sale has definitely been completed and the money distributed.

The City permits were approved some time ago. Are the buildings at Wells and Division being emptied?

Boom

Anybody else hear that loud boom around 4am this morning (10/11)? It didn't sound like gunfire or fireworks, just one loud bang. Hard to tell where it came from (maybe south, near Division & Wells?), and no sirens followed.

  • Stanky A Live in the area

No news story about the fire cracker

  • DAS

    From CPD zone 4 radio
Most of the patrols in the 18th heard the noise.
They had calls in from Armitage down to Ontario
They were looking for a blown transformer or a gas explosion. Some units did bring up the fireworks problem in the area but thought this one was too loud. Maybe they have some new firepower.

Dinotto Ristorante in Old Town is Moving

Throughout 25 years and two incarnations, Dinotto Ristorante on North Avenue has dished out Italian-American staples to the Old Town residents and theater crowd. In less than two weeks, Dinotto will embark on a third incarnation—at a different location.

Dinotto Ristorante, originally Trattoria Dinotto when it opened in 1989, will close this Sunday, September 21 due to failed lease negotiations and relocate around the corner to 1551 N. Wells Street. Planning to open in mid-October, the new location will be a little different, focusing on quick-fired Neopolitan pizzas from a 1000-degree oven imported from Naples with a few signature dishes from Dinotto Ristorante
Longtime chef/owner Dino Lubbat says he recently became a certified pizzaiolo from the Association of Authentic Neapolitan Pizza and will crank out charred pies in 90 seconds utilizing hand-crushed San Marzano tomatoes and house-made mozzarella. Charcuterie, antipasti, pasta, wine and craft beer will also be on the menu.
Lubbat describes the new space's design as "modern Italian" and will incorporate stone, brick, and "modern materials with a hint of tradition." Formerly the wine spot Flight 1551, the location seats around 60-70.
Lubbat is both excited for the new spot and wistful about the original that's closing in 12 days. "Lots of memories were made and we hope to make a lot more happy, filling memories with our next baby."

Sounds like it is going to be great.

Good luck Dino!! Can't wait to stop by for some pizza!!

Chicago is a city of festivals. during the summer.

There is a festival called The "Windy city wine festival" and it takes place in the Buckingham fountain area.

Yes this is a celebration of wine.Since the festival ends at 8PM we are having a after party for people who were not there or people who were there and would like to hang out more.

We are having it at a upscale place. It's taking place at The Pump Room which is at The public Hotelon the corner of Dearborn and Goethe.

This is an awesome place and its even better on a Saurday Night in Chicago.

The management has agreed to give us a drink special for the time of 8PM till 12:30 AM on this day.

Since its a part celebrating a wine festival, there will be Canyon Road Red and White Wine on special during the time we are there for $8 per glass. We are trying to get 1 more wine and a cocktail as well.

cops at lasalle and division the night of 8/26

Anyone know what was going on?

  • Was walking up dearborn and heard a commotion. At first thought it was bouncers just throwing someone out then seen what looked like a cop with his knee on someone. Then came the massive response, and an ambulance. They police taped off an area in front of the old snuggery. But could never get close enough to see what was actually happening. There was a guy recording video on his phone so something might pop up on youtube.
