We tried to get help from 11th District to keep eveyone safe in this violent gang controlled area. That did not work out so well.

We do get significant help from Organized crime under Anthony Riccio. We do get technology from Jonathan Lewin. Anthony is a godsend.

Seniors on the Walnut block are especially happy because half the block is a vacant lot. In the past many had 5 to 9 feet of jungle growth. Now all are cut!!!

Buildings and Law are also going after Drug Houses amd abandoned buildings.
Thanks to Commissioner Judith Frydland and Corp Counsel Kimberly Roberts.

Resident requests through 311, 911, Aldermanic Office did NOTprovide service. Emails to Commissiomers with photos did. It is a simple concept. Doit Commissiomer Brenna Berman is working on,a new system. It should be good and integrate software imter/intra departmentally

Email the top person when your neighborhood is a mess. Those on this list are well intended, reliable, fast.

Red tape clogs the system. The nos make simple tasks take a decade.

Do a foia of the department u requested service from. If it shows completed but was not: zimg it strait to the.top.

Record stores for Record Store Day heretics

I live around the corner from here. I've been living in this neighborhood since 1963. My major first store was on Pulaski and Madison in 1966, and then we traveled around. I can't remember all the stores.

I started in the record business in 1989, a little bit east of here at 4220 W. 63rd. Bought this building in 1999. This part of town is more residential, a little bit out of the way. It's not like I'm in Lincoln Park—we got kids all over the place.

Record stores for Record Store Day heretics
Record Store Day's organizers originally promoted it as a celebration of the mom-and-pop shops that had survived music retail's postpiracy nosedive while the likes of Sam Goody and Tower Records collapsed around them. But this international consumer "holiday" turns ten years old on Saturday, April 22, and as early as 2012 the Reader was already asking whether the whole production had jumped the shark.

Despite decriminalization, Chicago's grass gap persists
Late last July, on the day Governor Bruce Rauner signed into law a statewide decriminalization measure barring cops from criminally charging individuals caught with small amounts of marijuana, a 22-year-old African-American man was arrested by Chicago police officers on the city's west side after he told them he had about $10 worth of weed on him.
