Ald. Napolitano? Anybody know him?

Just throwing out a general query: has anyone ever had any luck accessing Ald. Napolitano?

I'm a volunteer with a local rescue that has formed a volunteer roundtable that looks at conditions at CACC and examines ways to improve conditions where needed.
About a month ago I contacted the 41st ward office to attempt a 20 minute meeting to fill out a survey that every alderman in the city was provided. I work Mondays during his open office time and was directed to his scheduler. So two phone calls and three emails later I'm told Ald. Napolitano is out of town. Ok. So I emailed the survey to the ward office, noting we were hoping to compile our responses by 9/1. That was about ten days ago and I've emailed twice but nada. Last I heard was that the alderman would fill out the survey and send it back.

We're talking just a half dozen short questions. But I can't even get him on the record as saying he's not interested in the topic and refuses to participate.

Any advice out there?

Norwood Park Laundromat

Does anyone have knowledge of what is going on with the Laundromat on NW Hwy. & Sayre?

  • gotts1, if you mean what you say, you can click on a previous thumbs up or down and it will be removed.

  • And if the laundromat owner wants to head to the casino with his/her money so be it. I would not begrudge radiochck if that's what he/she chose to do with his/her hard earned $$$.

Why the personal attack radiochck? You apparently are trying to portray the laundromat owner as a no-good bust-out. He or she owns a business and thus provides a much needed service to our neighborhood and a source of personal income..

What much needed service do you provide our neighborhood radiochck?

New Water Tax Makes City 'Finally Honest About Cost Of Running City': Rahm
CITY HALL - Mayor Rahm Emanuel is proposing a new tax on water and sewer use to make a pension fund solvent for city employees. The mayor announced the proposal Wednesday. It's estimated to cost the average homeowner $4.43 a month starting next year and about $19 a month when fully implemented after five years.

JKC, you ask, "why Rahm should take the blame for the excessive pension promises made decades ago"

While what you say may be true, his response to the mess is why I blame him. The Democrats answer to everything is to raise taxes or invent new taxes. And the new or invented taxes always seem to restl disproportionately on the shoulders of the working stiffs like you and me.

I'm starting to feel like the lyrics from Beatles' song 'Taxman' was prophetic:

If you drive a car, I'll tax the street,
If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat.
If you get too cold I'll tax the heat,
If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet.

Don't ask me what I want it for
If you don't want to pay some more
'Cause I'm the taxman, yeah, I'm the taxman

Property Tax Increase!

I just read the Sun-times article about the 41st ward getting an average of a 25.5% property tax increase. OUCH! What is it going to be next year when Chicago residents have to pick up the cost of the short funded CPS teachers pension and other CPS debts?

  • For the increased property tax, the city provides an automatic wake up call every morning by sending O'Hare aircraft over our homes and mosquito abatement services with the pollutants from the burning of Jet fuel over our neighborhoods. (No Zika virus here).

  • Ralph Johnson Old, retired and not living in Rhamville any more.

Hi Steve. When Wifey and I retired, (2 years ago) we took a long look at the upcoming property tax situation. City, county and teachers pensions were coming down the road. When they added the runway over our house, that was the tipping point. We were not about to use our retirement incomes to finance a totally corrupt system. Aldermen going for multiple city pensions... really? I'm not going to pay for it. Google Princeton, Il. 61356 and you will see why we live here with a former CPS superintendent and many retired teachers as neighbors. Perhaps you can escape before next year. Now that the Gov has given Rham the green light to raise taxes to address the CPS financial situation, bend over and grab your ankles for next years tax bill.
Best wishes and good luck to you and everyone.
